About the Company
MoveinSync, the company behind the newly-launched WorkInSync product, came into existence in 2009. The company offers workforce mobility solutions, including fleet management, employee ride-sharing, rentals, bus transportation, and more. Last year, as companies switched to working from home and needed to balance remote offices with physical premises, MoveinSync came up with a hybrid workplace solution. Christened WorkInSync, the solution, is available for small, mid-sized, and enterprise-scale companies.

WorkInSync makes it easier to book desks and meeting rooms and schedule employee/visitor movements in a hybrid environment. It ensures that you remain compliant as you return to the physical office, avoiding overcrowding of office spaces. WorkInSync also provides workplace analytics for more profound employee mobility and safety insights.
In March 2021, the company leveraged Dialogflow to build a Microsoft Teams bot that would act as an integration between the two apps. Teams users could now book desks and meeting spaces right from their collaboration hub without requiring them to open a separate platform. The WorkInSync app for Teams uses natural language understanding (NLU) to enable two-way conversations with the bot.
Let us explore the key features of the app in more detail.
Inside WorkInSync for Microsoft Teams
The WorkInSync app for Teams is available only to Professional and Enterprise users. The price for this is $4 and $6 per user annually. If you don’t have an existing WorkInSync account, you can sign up for a free trial for up to 50 users before starting.
The WorkInSync app is available for download from Microsoft AppSource. It offers you the following features:
- The WorkInSync bot: As soon as you install the integration, you will be greeted by the WorkInSync bot. The bot can understand simple commands like check-ins to WFH or WFO, find a teammate, check out, book a seat, and show bookings. It also guides you through a product tour to become familiar with WorkInSync’s many features.
- Check in to WFH and WFO: You can register work plans using WorkInSync, through the check-in command. You can specify WFH or WFO plans beforehand or check in directly on the day and select the location from where you work. You can check out by simply telling the bot. The app will maintain a record of your work hours.
- Check team activity: The WorkInSync app also lets you find out what other team members are doing at the moment and the location from which they are working. This is useful in a hybrid environment where one team is across WFH and WFO locations. You can ask the bot for the details of a specific team member by name. For example, if a team member is in the same office as you, you may want to meet face-to-face instead of scheduling a meeting. Or, you can ask the bot for information on the entire team’s activity.
- Manage seat bookings: When working from the office, you can specify which desk or meeting room you want to occupy and during which time slot. Your colleagues can view occupancy data to plan their calendars accordingly and avoid overcrowding. When booking a dehooking a desk via the WorkInSync botw about any seating conflicts.
- WorkInSync calendar and visual floor plan: The app includes a Work Planner feature that provides you with a calendar and floor plan. When you select a date, it will show your existing bookings (made via the bot) and display the floor plan side by side. With colour-coded occupied seats, you can even search for your colleague. Based on this floor information, you can convert the plan to WFH or vice versa. You can pre-specify your planned check-in and check-out timeline well before the day.
- Channel activity tab: Under the Team activity tab in the WorkInSync app, you can view your team members’ location, availability status, and contact information. You can choose to install a channel-specific activity tab to view the group of channel members quickly.
Why the WorkInSync App Makes a Difference
WorkInSync can be extremely useful for maintaining visibility and control over a distributed workforce in a hybrid world. It also alerts managers whenever team members check in, check out, or alter their plans.
