What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?
Our launch of the Enreach Contact App Suite in 4 markets consecutively: the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Latvia.
Who is your business hero and why?
I don’t really believe in heroes, as most individuals are not all good or all bad, but people I admire are entrepreneurs like Richard Branson, because they combine ridiculous success and ambition with a sense of corporate responsibility and fun. The author and creator of Holacracy, Brian Robertson, has also had a big impact on our business and the way we organise.
What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?
In the past, there have been cases where we have invested significant resources in R&D projects that we believed in, but we did not sufficiently check the dependencies and enthusiasm of other stakeholders. What I have learnt from this is to make sure we keep certain projects smaller in scope and simpler, allowing us to test the market much sooner.
What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?
Getting Things Done by David Allen has pretty much changed my life in terms of how I organise my day and manage my workload.
What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?
Balancing growth and profitability in a climate of increased interest rates. Forcing us to make choices on where to focus our investments.
What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?
Unfortunately, not a surprise, but for sure this will be AI. What we are excited about is bringing the power of AI to SMBs in Europe, using voice interfaces that live in the telephony network, both mobile and fixed.
