What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?

2024 has been a fantastic year of cross-department coordination. Working closely with product and development teams, I’ve helped craft and deliver our messages around new and exciting MTR, contact center, and AI-based solutions for our clients.

Who is your business hero and why?

My father. Although his business career was in a different arena than IT, I learned much of my approach for managing a variety of business aspects from him.

What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?

Where to begin; if we’re not making mistakes then we’re not challenging ourselves and growing! I would have to say, looking back at my career, the biggest mistake I’ve made from time to time is fear of taking a chance. There have been instances where opportunities for growth presented themselves through new career opportunities, new positions, etc. that I may have shied away from. In hindsight, I think there’s some truth in the statement that we regret most the choices we DON’T make, especially in IT. My greatest rewards have come from challenges where I’ve learned new technologies and solutions or taken on new roles.

What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?

This may be an out-of-the-ordinary response, but I rarely find books to be what I would call inspirational. Motivating, sure. Informative, definitely. But inspirational? I’m much more inclined to be inspired by individuals or real-life experiences than from text.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?

Distillation of information – but this is a challenge nearly every year! The IT realm is fascinating and incredibly rewarding because it is always growing and changing. As new solutions come to fruition, a key success metric is always condensing the tremendous volume of information into digestible, understandable concepts to help partners and customers understand and embrace the technologies.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?

Continued incorporation of AI in IT technologies. There’s a degree of “buzz-word” influence right now around AI, and it’s anything but clear how AI will continue to permeate and enhance IT technologies. Defining opportunities to incorporate AI in virtually all aspects of UC is of key focus for this year and beyond.
