What has been your business/work highlight or achievement of 2024?

Business high is two fold.. 1st, Seeing the growth of the UC Practice in Insight, increase 60% in 2024. 2nd, Being instructed by two of the UK’s largest organisations in headcount to support them in their migrations from legacy PBX solutions to Microsoft Teams Phone.

Who do you think has had the most positive impact on the UC space in 2024 and why? 

Over 2024, the UC practice at Insight has increased in headcount 50% over 2023. The team is handpicked and as a collective, are simply the best in class UC consultants and UC solution leaders. So for the most positive has to go the full UC practice at Insight.

What was your biggest business surprise in 2024?

The announcement of Dynamics Contact centre v2 and its capabilities and future roadmap. This is a interesting development in the contact centre space, and my personal guess is that DCC will grow rapidly and become more prominent in the coming year and I would have a bet that it will over take many current contact centres in the ecosystem today as the go to solution of choice. For them Contact Centre organisations, I would certainly be looking over my shoulder in 2025.

What was the most useful business book/podcast you’ve read/listened to in 2024?

As I’m a Director at Insight, I spend a lot of time leading and managing teammates. So, my book reading over the previous years has diminished from technical books etc, to more of leadership and development. Two books which resonate with me are 1, The Chimp Paradox Each and every one of us has an inner chimp which at times controls us in sometimes a disruptive way. This book talks about how to control our inner chimp.. its a great read 2, Radical Candor This book talks about how to get the best from people and the best ways of managing people in open and honest conversation.

What’s the biggest challenge you and your team will face in 2025?

Keeping up with growth in UC and hiring good, honest and trustworthy consultants to join the Insight UC team.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business in 2025 and why?

Continuing in Microsoft Teams at the core, but also leveraging the UC ecosystem and telecoms providers.
