In a move designed to streamline hybrid meetings across the US enterprise landscape, LG Electronics has announced a bundling partnership with collaboration software specialist DisplayNote.

The agreement will see DisplayNote’s Launcher, Omni, and Montage software pre-installed on LG’s Windows-based interactive displays and OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) devices.

The bundled solution offers a ready-to-go meeting experience for both end users and IT admins. For workers, it means one-touch access to meetings, screen sharing, and collaboration tools via a consistent, intuitive interface. Whether joining a Teams call, launching a Zoom meeting, or sharing a presentation, users are met with the same familiar environment, resulting in no IT tickets and no learning curve.

Ed Morgan, CEO of DisplayNote, said:

For LG, Launcher was a natural fit. It gives end users a familiar experience and gives IT full control behind the scenes. Everyone gets what they need, without the usual back and forth.”

That control is noted as a big part of the pitch. The pre-installed software suite provides deep administrative capabilities for IT departments, automated cleanup, remote updates, lockdown features, and secure settings management, all baked into the display itself. This aspires to reduce manual overhead and supports the goal of delivering consistent, always-on meeting experiences across locations.

LG’s Senior Manager for the US, Andy Chien, framed the move as part of a wider push into collaboration with organisations. “This is about more than displays,” he said. “It’s about helping enterprise teams get the most from every meeting, without wasting time or risking security.”

What IT Leaders Need to Know: Simplifying AV and Collaboration Tech for Everyone

The LG-DisplayNote bundle reflects a much broader trend of AV and collaboration tech that prioritises simplicity at the front end and manageability at the back end. For IT decision-makers, this move signals the market’s response to a long-standing pain point: that meeting rooms are often too complex for average users and too fragmented for efficient support.

Historically, meeting room tech has leaned heavily on IT departments, not just for setup and maintenance, but also for daily rescue missions when users can’t connect a call or share a screen. The end product is lost productivity, frustrated employees, and overburdened support desks. By shifting to a bundled solution with built-in software, LG and DisplayNote are flipping the model as it minimises touchpoints for end users while giving IT teams the remote control they need.

From a procurement perspective, this kind of baked-in value makes for a cleaner business case. The bundle reduces the need to layer third-party software post-purchase and provides an out-of-the-box solution that aligns with IT’s security, standardisation, and scalability goals. It also supports IT leaders’ increasingly strategic role in digital workplace transformation, equipping every worker with reliable, intuitive collaboration tools, not just the tech-savvy or office-based.

For organisations planning large-scale hybrid office rollouts or seeking to refresh outdated AV infrastructure, this partnership offers a glimpse into the future where meeting room tech is invisible in its simplicity but powerful in its control. In a market where user adoption is often the biggest barrier to ROI, that might just be the most valuable feature of all.

DisplayNote, Promethean Partner On Advanced Meeting Room Solutions

DisplayNote’s LG collaboration isn’t the only (relatively) recent partnership intended to elevate meeting room experiences and ease of access, with the company partnering with Promethean to deliver advanced meeting room solutions late last year.

DisplayNote partnered with Promethean to bundle its Launcher software on ActivPanel collaboration displays, aiming to enhance the user experience in meeting rooms and boost business communications.

Launcher provides a secure, streamlined interface that makes it easy for users to access calendars, launch video calls, and open content without IT assistance. Fully compatible with leading UC platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, GoToMeeting, and Google Meet, the solution ensures flexibility across vendors. DisplayNote positions Launcher as well-suited for corporate meeting spaces and higher education environments, where ease of use and security are paramount.
