Continuing our coverage of ISE 2018 in Amsterdam this week, we headed down to Booth B110 in Hall 3 to speak to Shure about some of there latest news.
Chris Lyons, Senior Conferencing Market Communications Manager at Shure told us about how these new releases can really aid companies in collaboration and ensure internal communication happens securely.
As a producer of both consumer and business audio hardware Shure’s focus at the event was orientated towards conferencing, collaboration and presentation technology rather than music. Firstly Shure were showcasing their new Microflex Complete integrated audio system for conferences and meetings. The system has the ability to work both as a wireless platform or as part of a wired network and enables audio functionality for not only those present but also remote attendees. Chris explained how the new product was proving really exciting for them and had garnered a lot of attention at the event.
“It’s received a lot of attention because people have used wired ones for many years but wireless options have not always been so great – everyone loves the concept, but the execution has often fallen short. Shure have been doing wireless for many years and if we can get it right on a touring stage for a U2 or Paul McCartney we can get it right in your meeting room”
Microflex also uses Shure’s scanning technology, so in terms of integration its very straight forward. The system scans and determines which frequencies to use autonomously.
Another featured developed by Shure for their products has also increased interest in the Microflex. Shure can now offer end to end network audio encryption. The encryption protects networked audio connections between Shure products against security breaches. This enables Shure to offer reassurance to their customers that confidential audio will remain so, without compromising their audio quality.
“You can enable encryption on both ends, so only those devices can hear each other. Even if someone plugged into the network with another Shure device they wouldn’t be able to receive any audio – you don’t have to worry”
Chris was keen to tell us that all of the product developments on show at ISE are driven by Shure’s desire to provide security and usability for their customers.
