Looking for a better way to manage your teams and resources? The Tactic booking software suite could have everything you need. Designed to help coordinate teams and reduce operational costs in the age of hybrid work, this all-in-one platform is reshaping the workplace.
Combining space and visitor management software with desk and meeting room booking capabilities, in-depth analytics, and even leave management capabilities, Tactic’s software helps countless companies re-align their distributed teams.
The platform has even won numerous awards for its ease of use, advanced capabilities, and flexibility. So, is it the right workplace management platform for your team? Let’s find out.
Quick Verdict: Pros and Cons
The Tactic booking platform is one of the most versatile workplace management solutions we’ve tried. It’s brimming with unique features that other platforms lack. For instance, instead of just allowing users to book meeting rooms or desks, Tactic allows them to reserve parking spots, coordinate their schedules with colleagues, track teams on leave, and more.
It even gives administrators a range of tools for creating hybrid work policies, which makes it an excellent option if you’re implementing a new “return to office” initiative. However, Tactic does lack some of the advanced AI features, and help desk tools offered by certain alternatives.
Pros:
- Excellent range of booking and reservation options
- Fantastic insights into colleague schedules
- Integrations with leading tools like Microsoft Teams
- Easy-to-use and intuitive interface
- Lots of admin control options
- Integrated visitor management
- End-to-end office analytics and activity insights
Cons:
- No advanced AI capabilities
- No help desk or ticketing tools
Tactic Booking Review: Overview and Key Features
The Tactic booking suite is a holistic software solution that gives businesses all the tools to manage desks, spaces, and visitors in one convenient place. It’s a user-friendly platform that helps team members make the most of their time in the office and gives administrators numerous tools for coordinating their workplace.
Though this platform doesn’t offer access to advanced AI tools, like Copilot in Microsoft Places, it’s still a feature-rich and intuitive solution for hybrid teams. It’s also capable of integrating directly with the tools teams already use, such as Microsoft Teams and Slack.
Here’s a closer look at the key features Tactic has to offer.
Desk Booking and Room Reservation
At the heart of the Tactic Booking platform is its desk and meeting room booking software, which empowers team members to select and reserve specific spaces to use within the office. When users access the Tactic app, they get an instant view of their office environment.
The interactive map shows team members where their colleagues will be on any given day and provides insights into available amenities and resources. The room booking application even provides a quick overview of each meeting room’s layout to enable better reservation decisions.
Once users find a space they want to book, they can reserve it in just a couple of clicks. The reservation form allows employees to reserve spaces on a recurring or one-off basis, and even allows them to book a parking space simultaneously.
Since Tactic also integrates with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, users can immediately add their spaces to their personal calendars and send invitations to colleagues they want to work alongside or join in a meeting.
Both the room and desk booking experiences are incredibly intuitive, whether you’re using the web-based application, or the Tactic mobile app. Users can even “check in” to spaces as soon as they arrive from the mobile application, with just a tap on their smartphone screen.
Policy and Team Management
One of the great things about the Tactic booking platform is that it doesn’t just make room and desk booking easier for team members, it also helps business leaders make the most of their available space. For instance, if you’re running a hybrid workplace, you can use Tactic’s software as an admin to set capacity limits for each office space and enable “mandatory check-ins” to keep track of everyone who’s present in the office.
Business leaders can create “desk zones” or office neighborhoods, making it easy to allocate desks to different departments or teams. They can also assign specific seats and spaces to individual team members based on the colleagues they might need to work with or the technology available.
We particularly liked the ability to set “approval requirements” for specific spaces and locations and the ability to prevent team members from booking the same space too many times in a row. This could be an excellent feature for business leaders who want to ensure that popular spaces are distributed fairly among their staff.
Plus, you can design entire policies within Tactic that basically show your team members how often you expect them to be available “within the office.” For companies that are struggling to get staff back into the workplace, this could help improve adherence to return-to-office mandates.
In addition, Tactic’s Booking software comes with leave management tools, so staff members can easily request time off and leaders can track availability in one place.
Tactic Booking: Visitor Management
Like many of the workplace management tools we’ve reviewed so far, Tactic Booking comes with built-in visitor management capabilities too. This basically ensures you can keep track of everyone outside of your “official team” who might be attending your office space.
The visitor management tools are very intuitive, giving companies the option to pre-register guests in advance and collect crucial details or documents from them before they visit the office. You can even send instant invitations to visitors after they’ve attended your workplace to ask them to come back into the office at specific times.
One great thing about Tactic, is it gives you a comprehensive overview of upcoming visits in one unified environment. This makes it easy to keep track of who is going to be in your office each day. You can also integrate the system with tools like Slack, to send immediate alerts to team members when someone they’ve invited to a meeting arrives at your location.
On top of that, the visitor management solution features similar capabilities to the desk and meeting room booking tools, allowing users to “check in” to environments when they arrive, and book additional visits or amenities like parking spaces with a couple of taps.
Office Insights and Reporting Features
In-depth insights are crucial to making the most of your hybrid workplace, ensuring you can design an environment that minimizes costs while improving productivity. The Tactic booking software gives companies a comprehensive overview of usage and activity throughout the office, helping them to track popular desks, attendance rates, and meeting room usage.
You can identify peak usage times for spaces in a couple of seconds, to help you decide how to allocate desks to employees to ensure you’re making the most of your available resources. Plus, there are some fantastic visitor management insights too, helping you to see at a glance when visitors are most likely to come to your workplace.
Beyond that, Tactic’s analytical tools offer insights into other metrics you wouldn’t get from most competing platforms. For instance, you can see how many employees have made vacation requests and how often they’ve been approved or denied.
You’ll also be able to compare remote and office-based working days for your teams to help you understand your team’s hybrid working preferences. Plus, there are reports for parking reservations, as well as check-ins and check-outs. You can even review activity on a team or employee-based level.
Unfortunately, there are no AI features here to offer intelligent suggestions on how to reallocate resources. Plus, there’s no option to send surveys to employees for direct feedback about their workplace experiences. You also can’t access “support tickets” or help desk software within Tactic, like you can on some other platforms.
Tactic Booking Pricing and Plans
Tactic’s pricing is relatively straightforward. Although you can combine the desk, room, and visitor management tools on this platform together, you do have to pay for each solution separately. However, there aren’t a lot of complicated subscription plans to choose from.
The desk booking software costs $3 per month, per desk, and includes access to all of the features Tactic has to offer, including desk assignments and booking rules. The room management tools cost $6 per month, per room, and the visitor management software costs a standard $99 per location, per month. Although there are more affordable options available, Tactic’s pricing is still decent.
You even get a 14-day free trial as a beginner, so you can test all the software before you commit to a specific plan. We also like the fact that the plans are flexible. You’re not restricted to annual payment schedules like you would be with some other tools, like GoBright. You can also mix and match your plan options based on your specific needs, adding new rooms and desks whenever you like.
Tactic Ease of Use and Customer Support
As noted throughout this review, one of the great things about the Tactic booking software is how intuitive it is to use. Whether you’re an administrator creating and managing workplace policies or an individual employee, you’ll have no problem getting started with Tactic.
The software’s interface is clean and straightforward, and there are plenty of guides and documents you can consult if you need extra help. Even connecting Tactic to your Microsoft Teams or Slack software only takes a few minutes.
Of course, certain features will take a little longer to set up and use. For instance, you might need extra time creating your self-service visitor check-in experience or designing interactive office maps. However, we think Tactic really shines overall from a user-experience perspective. We particularly love how easy it is to create custom reports and visualize data in graphs and charts with just a couple of clicks.
If you’re looking for support, the best place to start is with Tactic’s help center, which includes various documents, articles, and resources about how to use and optimize the software. Unfortunately, if you need to speak to the team directly, email is your best bet.
There is a chat widget on the Tactic website, where you can speak to a bot, or ask to be transferred to a human agent. However, when we tried to use this feature, we were told that no agents were available, and had to leave our contact details for someone to get in touch with us later.
Tactic Booking Review: The Verdict
There are a lot of great things that stand out about the Tactic booking software. It’s intuitive and feature rich, with plenty of great tools for reserving desks, rooms, parking spaces and more. It comes with some brilliant unique features, like the ability to create custom work policies, and track time-off requests. Plus, it integrates with tools like Microsoft Teams and Slack.
On top of that, Tactic’s software is extremely easy to use, and fantastic for gaining in-depth insights into resource allocation and activity levels in your office. However, we do think it could benefit from the addition of some extra capabilities, like AI-powered booking suggestions, or a help desk.
Still, if you’re looking for an all-in-one workplace management solution that’s straightforward, reliable, and robust, Tactic is a great choice.
