Trello has unveiled a new AI-powered platform overhaul to boost productivity, including an integration with Slack.
The Atlassian-owned project management service has announced several new major features and integrations geared around evolving Trello into an all-in-one, next-gen workflow management offering.
By integrating with Slack (and soon Microsoft Teams), email, and Siri, the company seeks to create a centralised hub for essential information. Unlike traditional task managers, Trello suggests this approach combines its organisational structure with AI-driven automation to consolidate tasks and streamline execution, helping users work more efficiently.
Gaurav Kataria, Head of Product at Trello, wrote in an announcement blog post:
As you go through your work day, new to-dos pop up at every turn: respond to an email message, provide feedback on a plan, share an executive update. It can become overwhelming quickly. Fret not. Trello is here to help you escape the clutter and chaos.”
Trello’s new AI features simplify task management by capturing to-dos instantly, organising them intuitively, and securing focus time on your calendar. With smarter integration, Trello aspires to ensure priorities stay on track, boosting efficiency and reducing distractions.
These features are currently available to Trello users in a private beta program, but the company is teasing a potential general release in April 2025.

More Specifics On Trello’s New Features
One of the major new features Trello is introducing is Trello Inbox, which intends to capture tasks from any interaction and send them to one easily accessible location, encompassing everything from voice commands and messaging apps to email and project management tools.
Trello suggests that users can tell Siri to add a task to Trello (iOS) or type it directly from the home screen (Android & iOS). If a Slack message requires action, Trello says users can snap it to their inbox using the app shortcut, the “save for later” feature, or even an emoji reaction.
For email tasks, users can forward essential messages to [email protected]. If they’re managing work in Jira, they can seamlessly pull in relevant issues by adding a new list to their Trello board and filtering with keywords, custom queries, or JQL.
Once tasks reach a user’s inbox, they can be organised into straightforward lists like “To-do,” “Doing,” and “Done” or arranged using one of Trello’s 100+ board templates tailored to different workflows. Users can easily drag and drop tasks into their schedule, allocate time for deadlines, and mark items as complete, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow.
Users can customise their Trello board to match their unique workflow by adding custom labels, checklists, and automation to enhance productivity. Leveraging AI, Trello can automatically extract due dates, action items, and priorities from raw text, streamlining task management and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Users can now mirror a Trello card to have a to-do appear on multiple boards simultaneously. Any edits made to the task are instantly updated across all boards, ensuring consistency and reducing the need for manual updates.
A further compelling capability is Trello Planner, which seamlessly integrates a user’s tasks and schedules. Users can integrate their Google Calendar (with Microsoft Outlook Calendar support coming soon) to see their availability alongside their tasks. They can seamlessly drag and drop tasks from their Trello Inbox or boards onto their calendar, creating dedicated time slots to stay focused and meet deadlines more efficiently.
