AV company DTEN has partnered with video conferencing platform Pexip to better integrate Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms into its products.

“Our partnership with Pexip is a natural extension of our dedication to providing next-generation collaboration technology that’s simple to deploy, quick to set up and just works, right out of the box,”

Scott Krueckeberg, Head of Strategic Alliances at DTEN, said.

This collaboration aims to deliver an enhanced experience when joining Teams meetings from Zoom Rooms, presenting a user-friendly alternative to Direct Guest Join that operates immediately.

Details of DTEN and Pexip’s Partnership

By integrating Pexip’s cross-platform interoperability into DTEN’s portfolio of devices, the partnership seeks to enhance user experience and streamline communication for organisations using Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

For instance, a company may use Zoom for external calls and Teams for internal calls, and a sales team might pre-brief on a Teams call before moving to a client call on Zoom.

Although solutions like Direct Guest Join exist, Pexip Connect for Zoom Rooms offers an alternative that brings in added features.

Direct Guest Join is a feature that allows Zoom Rooms to join Microsoft Teams meetings directly, but it comes with several limitations such as restricted functionality, dependency on accurate meeting information, and potential lobby bypass issues.

Pexip Connect platform for Zoom Rooms bridges that by offering a user experience upgrade with dual-screen support, in-room content sharing, and improved compatibility across various Zoom Room systems.

This is aimed at making next-generation video collaboration technology simple to deploy for IT administrators and users without technical know-how.

“We’re thrilled to work with DTEN as the first device manufacturer to offer Pexip Connect for Zoom Rooms,”

Lauren Eustace, VP Strategic Partnerships, Pexip, said.

“DTEN customers expect a reliable and intuitive meeting experience across all of their rooms, and now together with Pexip, we can bring that experience to even more meetings.”

In addition, the solution allows in-room HDMI and wireless content sharing and dynamic placement of participants and content across both displays.

Pexip Connect is available to DTEN customers as an added benefit with a DTEN Orbit Pro support plan, and is available for use with the new DTEN Bar or DTEN D7X 55″, 75″, and Dual 75″ All-in-One Video Collaboration systems.

DTEN 2025 Direction

Seamless meetings are on the agenda for DTEN this year, as they already announced solutions aimed at just that in 2024.

Taking a keen interest in Teams and Zoom, in the second half of 2024, the company released several new collaboration service configurations for seamless hybrid meeting experiences.

The collaboration tech vendor showed new recommended product configurations for Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms users in Medium and Large meeting spaces leveraging DTEN’s portfolio.
