Extron has unveiled two new 8K HDMI distribution amplifiers designed to enhance AV performance.
The DA4 HD 8K L and DA6 HD 8K L are advanced four- and six-output distribution amplifiers designed for HDMI 2.1 signals. These new products incorporate multiple Extron technologies to enhance performance in professional AV installations, including EDID Minder Plus.
Extron pitches the DA HD 8K L Series as packed with features and capabilities, suitable for a wide range of environments, from presentation spaces to esports venues. It aims to provide reliable distribution of high-data-rate HDMI source signals to multiple displays.
Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer for Extron, commented:
We are pleased to add two new members to our family of highly capable 8K DAs. Handling data rates up to 40.1 Gbps, DA HD 8K L Series amplifiers excel at 8K signal distribution but also provide the performance necessary to support various combinations of resolutions, colour bit depths, and refresh rates that exceed the capabilities of 18 Gbps, HDMI 2.0 products.”
These amplifiers support resolutions up to 8K/30 at 4:4:4, making them ideal for applications such as Microsoft Teams 21:9 in Front Row installations. With data rates up to 40.1 Gbps, they offer HDR, Deep Color up to 12 bits, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats. Additionally, they feature CEC capability for streamlined operation.
EDID Minder Plus supports additional memory blocks, while Key Minder ensures the simultaneous distribution of HDCP-encrypted content. Other user-friendly features include automatic input equalisation, selectable output muting, and Ethernet monitoring and control.
More Specifics On The New Distribution Amplifiers
The DA HD 8K L line allows high data rate HDMI 2.1 source content to be displayed simultaneously across multiple screens. To enhance and simplify integration, it includes myriad integrator-friendly features. Input cable equalisation restores and reshapes incoming HDMI signals, reducing the need for extra signal conditioning equipment by compensating for weak source signals or signal loss from long input cables.
The colour bit depth is automatically adjusted based on the display EDID, which Extron explains prevents colour compatibility conflicts between the source and the display. Outputs can be muted independently, allowing video and audio content to be previewed on a local monitor.
These distribution amplifiers can be proactively monitored, managed, or controlled over a LAN or WAN using standard TCP/IP protocol to streamline operations. Extron adds that the hardware can be mounted in a rack or discreetly installed beneath a table or desk, as it is housed in compact, low-profile enclosures and loaded with features.
Extron Streamlines AV Control With New Network Button Panels
Last month, Extron launched its new Flex55 and EU Series of Network Button Panels for Extron control systems, intending to streamline AV control.
The AV system control interfaces are crafted for simplicity and efficiency, enabling users to manage various AV system functions. Users can activate displays, switch inputs, adjust volume levels, and perform other essential tasks with just a touch of a button.
These Network Button Panels connect via standard Ethernet and are powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE) for added convenience. Designed for global adaptability, the NBP EU Series is compatible with Flex55 modules, mounting kits, enclosures, and EU junction boxes, making it suitable for versatile applications across different regions.
