Mobility a Key Focus for Metaswitch

Mobility is now key for Metaswitch, as published on UC Today from Cloud Comms Summit 2019, with open platforms for service providers.

UC Today attended the Cloud Comms Summit 2019 which concluded in Washington earlier in September. The latest iteration of the Cloud Comms Summit is organised by Cavell Group and the Cloud Communications Alliance.

John Tucker, Head of Business Products for Metaswitch, joins Patrick for this video interview. Firstly Patrick asks Tucker about some of the main trends that he has recognised at the conference. Tucker explains that mobility, and catering for mobile solutions, has been a repeating message and Metaswitch are focused on enabling its service provider partners to provide mobile first solutions to their end customers. Another area, that is of particular focus for Metaswitch, is the capability to have an open platform. Tucker believes that service providers will face a choice of whether to utilise another vendor's technology platform or whether they choose to create, manage and supply their own bespoke offerings.

Metaswitch are recognising that controlling the network is becoming an increasingly key factor in the decision making of medium and large enterprises. Many service providers have already invested large amounts of capital in their infrastructure so ensuring that this is sustainable and attractive to new customers in the long run is a key focus.
