Agenda Boss is a calendar and agenda aggregator app for Microsoft Teams and other collaboration hubs. It’s built by US-based software development company, Appfluence – the same team as the one behind the popular collaboration app Priority Matrix. Importantly, Appfluence is a recognised Atlassian partner, and several of its solutions are available as Atlassian integrations.

Appfluence’s Agenda Boss solution connects with your end-to-end business application stack to give you consolidated visibility into your schedule. It supports a wide range of integrations, including Asana, Trello, Jira, Basecamp, Monday, and others as well as Microsoft tools like To Do, Planner, Outlook, and Teams.

Appfluence launched the Agenda Boss app for Teams in 2021, allowing Teams users to aggregate and view scheduling information from outside the Microsoft Teams environment. In other words, it enables cross-application interoperability so that you never miss out on a work item no matter the platform in which it resides. And you don’t have to switch between multiple apps to stay on top of your schedule. Let us review this capability of the Agenda Boss in more detail.

Inside Agenda Boss for Microsoft Teams

The core value proposition of the Agenda Boss app is built on multiple integrations – therefore, the company has made the integration process incredibly simple and convenient. From the primary Agenda Boss platform, navigate to the Connectors module. Add a connector and choose Microsoft Teams. You will be prompted to authorise Microsoft Teams and enable data flow between the platforms. Once this is in place, you are ready to start using the integration. Next, you need to download Agenda Boss for Teams from Microsoft AppSource. You will also find the app in the Teams app store that you can access from the left navigation pane on the Teams platform.

While Agenda Boss’ connector lets you fetch Teams data into the Agenda Boss app, the company’s Teams app allows you to access a nearly complete Agenda Boss experience without having to open the primary platform.

Here are the key features to expect with the Teams app from Agenda Boss:

  • Aggregate calendars through multiple connectors – This is the flagship feature of the Agenda Boss app. It has several Connectors that allow Agenda Boss to fetch scheduling data from multiple applications, including Jira, Trello, Asana, Outlook, and Microsoft To Do. The company also has more connectors in the pipeline, such as Todoist, Google Tasks, Monday, Notion, and Basecamp. Once you set up the Agenda Boss platform with all the necessary Connectors, you will be able to see your agenda items from those platforms directly inside of Teams.
  • Pinned app for easy access – You can pin Agenda Boss as an app for personal use on the left pane of your Teams window. This not only eliminates the need to open five different apps to see what’s on schedule, but it also means that you don’t even need to open the primary Agenda Boss platform. All your agenda data across applications will be visible directly from this pinned app in your Teams interface.
  • Automatic syncing across applications – Automatic synchronisation is among the key features that make Agenda Boss so useful. You can be assured that all your agenda items – including tasks, project information, calendar events, or other kinds of action points – are always up-to-date. This applies to the Teams app as well. Let’s say you have connected Agenda Boss to a Google Tasks checklist. When you mark a task as complete on Google Tasks, it will reflect in Microsoft Teams as well.
  • Quickly navigate to tasks – It is important to keep in mind that the Teams app from Agenda Boss does not enable bidirectional data flow. In other words, while you will be able to view tasks from multiple platforms, you cannot interact with them (change prioritisation, add comments, etc.) from Teams. However, the app allows you to quickly navigate to tasks on a different platform at a single click, by presenting a clickable link for every agenda item.

Why the Agenda Boss App Makes a Difference

As remote collaboration becomes a staple of office work, your events and agenda items are likely to be spread across various platforms. Agenda Boss prevents fragmentation, ensures that you remember every scheduled item, and makes your daily schedule accessible directly inside your collaboration hub.

What We Think
