As the name suggests, EngageWith is an employee engagement tool that helps you conduct pulse surveys and share peer-to-peer recognition in Teams. It was launched by an HR technology company, Springworks, towards the end of 2020 to overcome the challenges around employee engagement in a remote working environment.

Springworks was founded in 2018 and is based in the US and India. It raised $3.1 million in total funding, picking up $1.3 million in the last known financing round in 2018. The company has several flagship platforms to simplify HR processes, such as SpringRole (blockchain-based professional profile verification), SpringVerify (B2B verification), SpringRecruit (a free applicant tracking system), Trivia (a quiz app for team building), and EngageWith.

Ever since the launch of EngageWith, it was purpose-built to provide a complete set of employee engagement tools inside a conversational environment. EngageWith works with Slack and Microsoft Teams, enabling pulse surveys and recognition activities. There’s also a powerful analytics module where you can assess how frequently employees recognise each other and which are the potential ways to strengthen your culture of recognition and appreciation. Let us review the EngageWith app for Teams in detail.

Inside EngageWith for Teams

You can download the EngageWith Teams integration from Microsoft AppSource. Keep in mind that the app is free for only up to 50 users – you may need to subscribe to a paid license at $2 per user per month for the app’s pro version for above 50 users. Once your EngageWith account is active and correctly set up, download the Teams integration either from Microsoft AppSource or directly from the application store in Teams.

Here are the features that it enables:

  • The EngageWith chatbot – The EngageWith chatbot allows you to interact with the app, conduct surveys, and share recognition entirely from a conversational interface. It will notify you about key events – for example, when a co-worker recognises you for a workplace achievement or value demonstration.
  • Pulse surveys – You can use EngageWith to send quick pulse surveys in the context of your ongoing Teams conversations and activities. Previously, you could send pulse surveys only to a group channel, but after a recent update, the app also supports privately sent pulse surveys. All answers are recorded anonymously, and you only see an aggregated result of the submissions.
  • Points-based employee recognition – EngageWith follows a points-based recognition model where employees can redeem the points that they have earned for tangible rewards. This further reinforces the act of recognition and makes it more memorable for the recipient. EngageWith partners with leading retail brands like Macy’s, Amazon, Walmart, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, etc., to provide employees with greater flexibility when redeeming points.
  • Bot-based notifications – The EngageWith chatbot keeps you notified about key events that deserve recognition. For example, you will be alerted whenever a co-worker has a birthday, so you can send a timely greeting or plan a workplace/remote celebration. The bot also sends notifications on work anniversaries so they can be recognised for completing essential milestones in their professional tenure.
  • Recognition leaderboards – The app lets you view a full list of employees 0based on their recognition activity. You can rank both top recognition givers as well as recognition recipients. These individuals may be separately recognised for their active participation in your company’s rewards and recognition programmes to reinforce adoption.
  • Admin dashboards – The administrative dashboard allows you to set the reward budget, specify a conversion rate for reward points, analyse recognition activities, and view a summary of recent pulse surveys. In other words, this serves as the single pane of visibility across all EngageWith activities across the organisation.
  • Survey and feedback templates – This is a handy feature for companies starting with a regularised survey programme. EngageWith includes a library of 45+ pre-built templates that you can share with Teams users immediately.

Why the EngageWith App Makes a Difference

EngageWith has nearly every feature you could ask for in a team engagement app. You can send recognition, set a rewards budget, set a reward budget, conduct surveys, and collect feedback – all from a singular platform. And the conversational nature of the UX makes it non-intrusive so that employees are motivated to participate.

What We Think

Starting at just $2 per user per month and with a free version for <50 users, EngageWith is among the most affordable and feature-rich team engagement tools for conversational platforms.
