VisualSP is a Microsoft 365 training and adoption company founded in 2005. It is based out of the US and provides enterprises with products and services that help them make the most of their Microsoft investments. The VisualSP solution is available for training across Microsoft 365. SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Teams. You can also customise it to train employees on any web app you choose.
Here’s how VisualSP works: it follows in-the-moment training principles, which means that users and employees receive tips and guidance even as they use the tool they are being trained on. In addition to a library of learning content, VisualSP streamlines the learning curve by providing contextual recommendations on how to use an app.

VisualSP can be deployed as a Microsoft Teams integration. Using the VisualSP app for Teams, you can search for learning content (Teams and other Microsoft 365 tools) without switching platforms. You can share content with your colleagues, search through the library and even customise the library with your own organisation-specific content.
In addition to the Teams app, you can gain from private training sessions when you sign up for a premium edition of VisualSP. Let us review these capabilities in detail.
Inside VisualSP for Microsoft Teams
You can get started with VisualSP for Teams by downloading the app from Microsoft AppSource. You can also find VisualSP in the application store on your Teams platform. This will allow users to browse through and view VisualSP content directly from the Teams environment.
VisualSP for Teams works in two ways – you can add it as a channel tab so that all channel members can access the learning content. You can also leverage the VisualSP messaging extension to share content with colleagues in line with your ongoing conversations.
Here are the key features to expect with this app:
- A massive content library – One of the key reasons for choosing VisualSP is its large and smartly designed content library. It has hundreds of video assets covering key skills and learning topics across different Microsoft 365 tools. The library covers Office 365, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint, as well as on-premise and web apps. Each of these applications are broken into learning groups (e.g., charts and cells in Excel), with multiple microlearning videos and web lessons for each group.
- Content sort, filter and search – Employees can navigate the content library and focus on the most relevant assets using the sort, filter, and search functionality. You can sort assets by title, filter by application or media type, or search for a specific content asset by name.
- Learn directly inside the Teams platform – The VisualSP platform provides learners with a flexible learning experience. If they want to look up a specific skill relevant to their job, they can quickly consume a video or web lesson directly inside the Teams platform. Or, for more complex topics that require a focused learning experience, they can open the video in a new window so that they are not distracted by Teams chat or notifications.
- Learning content shareability – There are two ways to share learning content from VisualSP with your colleagues. You can click on the share button on a particular web or video lesson to generate a shareable link. You can also leverage the VisualSP messaging extension. Click on the VisualSP button right below the message compose area and type in the name of the content asset in the pop-up box. This will insert a card containing the content name and the VisualSP icon into your chat or channel conversation.
- Customisable training library – VisualSP lets you add your content if you have subscribed to the app’s premium version. This feature can be extremely useful for training on industry-specific Microsoft 365 applications, organisational rules and policies, project-related tasks, etc.
- Learning analytics – VisualSP Usage Analytics will monitor how your Teams users interact with and consume the learning content. These results will be available in the analytics and reporting module so that you can invest more in learner adoption and target gap areas.
