Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) has appointed Nuvola Distribution as a distie for its new unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) product.

ALE Launched Rainbow Hub in July after its UCaaS deal with RingCentral came to an end. Rainbow hub combines ALE’s Rainbow PBX and UC offerings into a cloud service.

The deal will see Nuvola sell Rainbow Hub in a wholesale model to channel partners.

Moussa Zaghdoud, Executive Vice President of the Cloud Communications Business Division at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, said:

“Rainbow Hub is a reliable, feature-rich, and secure UCaaS solution that is well-positioned to meet the needs of businesses that are increasingly adopting cloud-based communications solutions.

“We are pleased to see our long-standing partnership with Nuvola Distribution continue to grow in the UK and Ireland.

“Their unique approach to delivering solutions ensures that our customers benefit from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise products as well as highly attentive engineering and technical support.”

Nuvola Distribution already has an established relationship with ALE and carries technology across the vendor’s portfolio, including voice, networking and wireless products. It also works with the likes of 8×8 Aver, RingCentral, Poly and Zoom.

Michael Lloyd, Managing Director, at Nuvola Distribution, said: “Rainbow Hub is ideal for our reseller partners who wish to expand their telecoms and unified communications beyond other available platforms.

“They can now easily deploy and manage customers through Rainbow’s user-friendly admin interface, without the need for expensive training or upskilling. Another major benefit is that only one invoice per customer is required based on licensing and traffic.”

What is Rainbow Hub?

ALE previously went to market with a joint UCaaS offering with RingCentral known as Rainbow Cloud Office Powered By RingCentral. Other UC vendors such as Avaya and Atos formed similar partnerships with RingCentral.

This partnership, however, came to an end in March.

At the time, ALE said:

“Following the evolution of our partnership with RingCentral, we are transitioning from selling Rainbow Office to reselling RingCentral branded solutions.”

However, ALE launched its own UCaaS offering, Rainbow Hub, in July this year.

The key features of Rainbow Hub include full UC functionality, telephony services, mobility options, analytics, and seamless integration.

Channel partners can provide advanced services without operational complexities. While also maintaining customer ownership and handling direct invoicing.

ALE claimed that it streamlines operations and enhances security by eliminating the need for physical PBX systems and utilizing end-to-end encryption.

Rainbow Hub is accessible on various platforms, including PC, Mac, iOS, Android and via the web, promoting flexibility for users.

RingCentral’s MVP UCaaS platform is still listed as a product on ALE’s website.

Teams Integration

ALE also introduced Rainbow Telephony for Microsoft Teams connector, enhancing the UC platform’s capabilities and integrating with the Teams platform.

Rainbow Telephony for Microsoft Teams is an enhancement to Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s Rainbow UC platform.

It seamlessly interfaces with Microsoft Teams, allowing the use of current telephony systems across various devices and software environments.

The solution offers features like call management, conferencing, and call barring, enabling efficient communications. Users can be reached anytime on any device using a single number, enhancing connectivity. The integration within Rainbow eliminates the need for additional investments or training, promoting a smooth transition to cloud telephony without disruptions.
