Avaya, one of the world’s leading providers of communications, is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, looking back on 2 decades of incredible innovation. The Avaya brand originally emerged when the team spun off from Lucent Technologies as an independent Enterprise Comms company in September 2000.

It’s incredible to think that the business has now been running for 20 years, moving through endless transformations in the marketplace, from the arrival of social media, to the evolution of the smartphone. The company recently released a timeline of some of it’s biggest achievements over the years to pay homage to the amazing growth of the Avaya name.

Congratulations Avaya

Avaya chose its name to convey the flow of open and free communication. Originally, it sold Definity phone systems and offered support for the innovations of Bell Labs and the company’s original AT&T background. Avaya has come a long way since then. Now, the company supports over 11.7 billion communication experiences every day.

Avaya has more than 100 million UC lines worldwide, and 5 million contact centre users too. The company doesn’t have any plans to slow down, though. Avaya’s team is 100% invested in building an ever-more impressive company, with new innovations that embrace everything from collaboration in the cloud, to AI, mobility, cybersecurity, and so much more.

Going forward, Avaya hopes to remain uniquely positioned to serve the needs of companies worldwide with an ever-evolving communication , collaboration, and CX environment.

🍾🍰 HAPPY BIRTHDAY Avaya, from the team at UC Today! 🍰🍾
