Bandwidth, an enterprise CPaaS company, dedicated to transforming business communications, recently announced new upgrades to its market-leading solution for number porting. The latest enhancements are set to revolutionise the way that companies port their numbers in the modern comms environment, streamlining the journey from one carrier to another. Bandwidth believes that the newly enhanced features will accelerate time to market for its over 1,400 enterprise customers and reduce the number of support tickets issued in the process.

According to Senior Director and Product Manager for Bandwidth, Rob Scheible, porting numbers is a crucial part of the onboarding experience for most of the company’s customers. Bandwidth has been focusing on finding ways to remove hurdles from the porting process for more than a decade now. Today, Bandwidth is particularly excited to see how quickly customers will be able to make a move to a new carrier now.

The Bandwidth Number Porting Experience

Bandwidth’s communication platform is designed to serve a wide and varied audience, which includes a range of software platform owners, enterprise IT specialists, and VoIP professionals. According to Bandwidth, all of their users benefit from the revamped porting experience in their own unique ways. For instance, software product owners will be able to more seamlessly integrate with the Bandwidth porting API, allowing customers to programmatically submit up to 20,000 numbers on demand to the platform.

On the other hand, VoIP innovators using Bandwidth for their core network capabilities will be able to check portability options for thousands of numbers at the same time, coordinating porting dates and times for multiple carriers, instead of managing each number individually. The new number of porting updates will also ease the migration headaches usually faced by modern enterprise IT professionals who may need to migrate their SIP services into a cloud communications platform. Porting issues are often some of the biggest struggles and time-consuming hassles that these individuals face.

Bandwidth’s updates to its porting experience will give enterprise users more control over the entire porting process, ensuring that individual offices, entire departments, and campuses can be managed with predictability and simplicity.

An Exciting Step Forward for Bandwidth

Bandwidth customers, like Bethanie King and Tamara Foster of LogMeIn, have said that they need to port phone numbers every day when bringing new customers onto their platform. The updated porting experience from Bandwidth is great for power-porters that need to do a lot of porting, as it increases the number of numbers available to be submitted with a single order and reduces the risk of rejected ports. Additionally, the process puts more control into the hands of individual users.

LogMeIn’s representatives said that they have used five different providers to obtain numbers in the pasts, and Bandwidth’s process stands head and shoulders above the rest so far. The combination of API functionality, features, and other tools makes Bandwidth an excellent choice for porting.
