The solution was previously available as a bespoke Unify offering and it is now being made available for direct customers, beginning in the UK and Germany.
According to the Canadian telecoms company, CEM’s emergency response tools can “ensure business continuity” in high-stress situations.
Martin Bitzinger, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Mitel, explained what sets CEM apart: “Critical events are an existential threat to any business.”
“Organisations looking to safeguard their viability need to invest in technology that allows them to plan for worst-case scenarios and respond swiftly and effectively before they escalate.”
“The Mitel Critical Event Management Platform allows organisations to ensure safety of staff, enhance resiliency and avoid substantial financial losses or operational setbacks from a poorly handled critical event.”
Unlike most other event management products, our CEM offers an all-in-one platform, combining everything from advanced risk intelligence and communication to collaboration and coordination capabilities.”
‘This enables greater efficiencies and an easier user experience at an extremely stressful time.”
Key Features of CEM
Mitel lists the essential assets of CEM as being its ease of integration, plentiful use cases, flexibility and affordability, compliance, and support.
CEM is easy to integrate into existing infrastructure so that customers can streamline their workflows, reduce operational silos, and increase efficiency. Moreover, time to resolution is cut down during critical events, minimising risks and disruptions.
There are “numerous” use cases for the technology. Built-in artificial intelligence can analyse thousands of data sources to locate possible threats in real-time and give customers the opportunity to use tools to assist in cases of an emergency, such as alerts, alarms, and omnichannel communications.
According to Mitel, customers can enjoy flexibility and affordability with 350 different integrations on offer, which can be paid for individually as and when each one is required.
CEM conducts risk analysis and automates regulatory reporting requirements for GDPR and industry-specific regulations.
Finally, Mitel offers support to customers throughout their projects, from establishing their needs and challenges to determining the right modules to deploy.
Mitel partnered with the cloud-based SaaS platform Everbridge to develop CEM.
In a recent blog post, Everbridge explains why business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) are so important:
BC/DR ensures the company has the ability to quickly and effectively react to a negative change from a disruptive event (natural or manmade) by having and implementing proactive and reactive strategies to safeguard its stakeholders and revenue.”
“To produce an effective, actionable, and compliant BC/DR plan, companies survey all their business functions and force rank through an impact assessment.”
“This produces an organisation-wide prioritisation of all business processes and the resources needed, identifying the roles and steps needed in an event.”
“After all, if the business can effectively work around a supply chain shortage, the loss of a data centre, or a tornado, the information and data gathered during the BC/DR efforts can be leveraged to identify process improvements, risks, and duplicity in work efforts in daily operations.”
Earlier this month, Mitel partnered with ASC Technologies to produce a business analytics platform, MIR Insights AI.
