In today’s business world, if a company wants to make a name for itself, thought leadership is one of the best ways to go. The folks at PCI Pal seem to know this very well, as they’ve been streaming their very own podcast over the past six months.

The podcast, straightforwardly titled Secure Payments, deals with all the latest and most relevant issues in payment security, compliance and Customer experience. It offers valuable guidance and intriguing discussions to listeners, covering different industries and hosting a variety of expert speakers.

Educating Listeners while Offering WFH Entertainment

The Secure Payments podcast was first conceived in December last year, in the midst of lockdown. The team at PCI Pal thought it would be an engaging  way to provide some much-needed entertainment to people working from home, while offering some truly valuable payment security insights.

With many of us suddenly working from home, the idea behind the podcast was to bring secure payments and data security insight and entertainment to lock-downed listeners whilst working away at their desks or doing household chores over their lunch hour,” shares Jane Goodayle, SVP Global Marketing at PCI Pal.

PCI Pal found this medium to be an ideal way of connecting with their clients and partners during these unprecedented times and got over the webinar fatigue that quickly ensued in the first few months of lockdown.

The number of people tuning into podcasts each month is rising, and we saw this as an opportunity to connect with our audience in a way they are clearly beginning to prefer

Secure Payments has proved to be a hit among listeners, with thousands of streams since its launch in December.

From PCI DSS to Environmental Concerns

Throughout its six month of podcasting activity, PCI Pal have been uploading fresh episodes of Secure Payments once or twice a month, much to the satisfaction of their listeners. Topics range from cloud compliance and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to must-have agenda tips for CISOs, post-pandemic payments and CX. And there’s more to come.

According to Goodayle, upcoming episodes will include an interview with one of the company’s customers in the travel and leisure sector, focusing on payments within their industry; as well as an insightful discussion around the much-anticipated update to the PCI DSS, led by PCI Pal’s CISO Geoff Forsyth along with a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA). Forsyth and the QSA will explain how the update is going to affect business and guide them through the process of preparing for it.

Another surprising future episode of the podcast will be taking a look at how the payment industry impacts the environment – “specifically the environmental benefits of cloud computing compared to traditional IT infrastructure,” shares Goodayle.

There’s definitely a lot to look out for.

You can subscribe to Secure Payments via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and other streaming platforms, and all episodes are also available free of charge on the PCI Pal website.
