It feels redundant opening an article about change with another line focusing on the pandemic as it’s obvious that the Coronavirus has had a tremendous effect on everyone’s life.

But even before the fateful year of 2020, change in a business was imperative to continue to succeed. To draw off my own personal experience for a second, the start of my career has seen a huge shift by 90 percent of publications across the world, to focus on content away from the written word as printing presses grow quieter.

UC Today is one such example of how adapting to change breeds new opportunities, with another from the communications industry being VanillaIP as Sales and Marketing Director, Iain Sinnott explains.

“For a lot of the established players in the Telephony world, asking ‘who are VanillaIP’ may seem like an odd question, as so many of you will know our CEO Dave Dadds personally, and we seem to have been around forever” said Sinnott

“However, unless you have been working closely with us over the past 6 years, many who are not familiar with VanillaIP, or those members of the IT community joining this now very converged space, may be astonished by what lies behind this established name.”

Ethos

At the heart of VanillaIP’s business is the culture of providing the best-in-class solutions to their customers, with Sinnott adding that he believes that when the right technology is provided to an individual, a team or business, there is a measurable rise in productivity and individual wellbeing.

He said “We have created the broadest composite solution to address the UC needs of UK businesses, but also leaves space for resellers to add other best-in-class services that they feel their go-to-market proposition needs.

“All applications and services are managed within the unique Uboss portal, which automates the provisioning and configuration of the various applications but also manages the commercial and contract rules which support real-time, on demand consumption and customer self-service.

“Within the portfolio we have Webex and Microsoft Teams both seamlessly integrated with the Broadsoft voice platform to enable full PBX functionality to both leading business collaboration applications”

The portfolio

Uboss itself provides compliant call recording, toll fraud protection, a massive reports repository, device management, fault management, number management, customer notifications and zero touch billing.

The solution also then provides the management window for a range of leading CX and mobility solutions which can be included in user packages or provided in an a-la-carte options list:

  • Akixi – Help/desk & Sales/Desk management plus Omni-channel contact centre
  • Kakapo – Call control and Omni-channel contact centre
  • Mondago CRM integration
  • Tango Networks – Multi-Network SIM extensions
  • PromptVoice Message and music for businesses and call queue enhancement

“We support our resellers to achieve higher revenue through the provision of a much deeper application set,” said Sinnott, “but also to reduce back-office costs through seamless automation.”

“For any reseller building for the future, rather than just surviving the next few months, then the Uboss portfolio of management tools and the team supporting the channel is the key to sustained and rapid growth.

“We are in a fast-paced industry and that is something resellers need to be very mindful of. If they create a great base of customers but they struggle to react to market changes, they can lose the return on their hard-fought wins.”

“We have over 140 people in the development team making sure we can remain current through the inclusion of new products and services, without breaking the simplicity of portfolio management through the Uboss portal. I think that’s a crucial reason why we continue to be successful”
