RingCentral has announced that its AI Assistant is being introduced to its RingEX UCaaS platform at no additional cost.

RingCentral AI Assistant is designed to enhance productivity by automating several routine tasks. It generates detailed, real-time notes during phone calls, assists in writing, refining, and translating texts and chats, and aims to provide concise summaries of meetings with clear action items.

This automation intends to reduce the burden of mundane tasks, allowing employees to focus on more critical and strategic work.

Kira Makagon, Chief Innovation Officer & CMO at RingCentral, said:

With RingCentral AI Assistant, we’re enabling teams of all sizes, from solo entrepreneurs to global corporations, to transcend traditional limitations and operate at the speed of thought. With the combination of our cutting-edge AI and secure, trusted infrastructure, we’re not just helping teams work faster and smarter — we’re redefining what’s possible in the modern workplace. This is more than an upgrade; it’s a leap into the future of business productivity.”

RingCentral says that RingEX customers, spanning small businesses to large enterprises in various sectors such as legal, real estate, healthcare, financial services, and retail, who took part in the early access preview for AI Assistant experienced notable enhancements in their daily operations. The business says that 92 percent of users found AI call notes crucial for their business, and 84 percent reported improved call engagement.

Starting in the US, AI Assistant is included at no additional cost in RingEX. Extra skills and an international rollout are planned for early 2025.

More Specifics On The AI Assistant’s Feature Set In RingEX

AI Assistant operates on RingCentral’s platform and encompasses a range of skills.

RingCentral states that it powers phone conversations with real-time note-taking, capturing outstanding questions and action items, delivering AI-generated summaries and notes, and recording highlights. This feature captures the context of conversations, making engagements more personalised.

Additionally, RingCentral outlines that the AI writer and translator can write and polish text and chat messages in the preferred style and length, accurately translating messages in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. For missed team messages in group chats, AI Assistant provides AI-generated summaries for a catch-up.

The vendor adds that it automatically generates video highlight reels and searchable text summaries of meetings, including keyword-based clips, transcripts, summaries, topic lists, and replays by specific speakers. Lastly, it offers real-time live transcriptions and closed captioning for calls and video meetings.

Ringcentral conveys that AI Assistant offers a range of capabilities across different tiers. In the Core tier, it transcribes live calls and meetings, provides closed captioning, and summarises meetings with key takeaways. The Advanced tier includes all Core features and adds the ability to capture real-time call notes automatically. The Ultra tier encompasses everything in Core and Advanced, plus it can write, edit, and translate texts and team chats.

What Else Has RingCentral Been Up To Recently?

Last month, RingCentral announced it had been awarded the PAN-India licence, allowing it to deliver global, compliant UCaaS and CCaaS for multinational organisations with India operations.

The UCaaS and CCaaS provider has obtained a PAN license from India’s Department of Telecommunications (DOT), allowing it to operate across all 22 telecommunications circles in the country. According to RingCentral, this achievement makes it the first “cloud provider to deliver fully-compliant UCaaS and CCaaS solutions for India”.

Meanwhile, in September, Zayo and RingCentral partnered to deliver an advanced enterprise communications offering, Zayo UC+ with RingCentral.

Zayo, a communications infrastructure provider, partnered with RingCentral to introduce Zayo UC+ with RingCentral. This joint solution combines RingCentral’s RingEX and RingCX technologies, which are designed to enhance workforce productivity and improve customer experiences. The offering provides secure, AI-powered cloud communication and contact centre capabilities, targeting enterprises focused on optimising their operations.
