Jeremy Wubs has been appointed as Sangoma‘s new Chief Operating Officer.
The news follows a month after Sangoma named its new CEO, Charles Salameh. Salameh formally assumed his role on September 1, and both executive appointments usher in a new era as Sangoma aims to continue driving revenue and centre on operational efficiency after several acquisitions in recent years.
Wubs said:
I am very impressed by both the breadth and depth of the Sangoma portfolio; few companies have the assets to satisfy the broad communications needs of clients in today’s digital world. I’m excited to be part of the leadership team that will simplify and harness Sangoma’s complete range of products and services to unlock its full potential.”
Wubs has 20 years of experience as a technology and transformation executive with a track record of producing positive financial results in competitive markets. Wubs adds knowledge and expertise in overseeing and growing established and emerging products tailored to the small, medium, and enterprise segments.
In his previous role as an executive at Bell Business Markets, Bell Canada, Wubs oversaw a multi-billion-dollar P&L. As Senior Vice-President of Product, Marketing and Professional Services, he managed wireline and wireless products and services across different technology domains, encompassing voice, collaboration, contact centre, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity and IoT.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jeremy to Sangoma as our first Chief Operating Officer,” added Salameh. “His extensive experience, strategic vision, and exceptional leadership skills will undoubtedly play a crucial role in driving our company’s growth and success in the rapidly evolving cloud communications landscape. We look forward to working closely with Jeremy and benefitting from his expertise.”
Salameh’s New Era
Wubs joins new CEO Salameh as two leading figures in Sangoma’s new-look C-Suite.
Salameh was previously Global Head of Account Expansion at Infosys, where he oversaw revenue growth and expansion across Infosys’ almost $18.2 billion book of business, according to the company’s Financial Year 2023 reported revenue. Salameh also held senior leadership positions at Bell Canada, Nortel Networks, HP and DXC.
Salameh was also appointed to Sangoma’s Board of Directors, and his remit as CEO encompasses collaborating closely with the communications and IT business’s executive team to further Sangoma’s commitment to customer satisfaction and solutions innovation. The plan is to progress the company’s status as a global leader in elite cloud-based communications services.
What Else Has Sangoma Been Up to This Year?
Sangoma has made several compelling announcements this year aside from their C-Suite changes, such as its cloud-based contact centre platform, Sangoma CX, updated with new omnichannel features, including webchat support to boost agent productivity.
The new capability allows agents to interact with customers through Sangoma’s platform interface. The omnichannel solution enables users to manage customers and their requests uniformly across phone calls and webchat interactions. This streamlines the process and reduces waiting times. Agents can transition between calls and webchat interactions without crossing wires while offering agents and customers more options in addressing customers’ concerns.
There are also new reporting features for agents, diversifying agents’ options to track the success of their webchat interactions with customers and offering more valuable data for businesses to understand their customers’ needs and preferences better. These data sets can illustrate targeted areas for improvement, improving agent productivity and customer satisfaction.
Additionally, Sangoma released the “Sangoma Suite” communications bundle, which involved UCaaS solutions and platform integrations.
Describing itself as a “trusted leader in delivering cloud-based Communications as a Service solutions for companies of all sizes”, Sangoma introduced a comprehensive package of essential communications solutions.
Alongside the primary features of the Sangoma Suite, Sangoma also included discounts for businesses wanting to integrate its contact centre, phones, SD-WAN, and cloud security solutions.
Contained within the Sangoma Suite are UCaaS, collaboration, and video meeting solutions, as well as platform integrations. The suitsuite’saS solutions include business phone, cloud-based, hybrid, and on-premise systems.
