Slack has hit a revenue run rate of $1bn as its acquisition by Salesforce edges closer.
The workplace chat firm said that revenue hit $360m during the quarter ending 31 January, up 41 per cent year on year. Revenue for the full-year was $902.6m.
Slack also said that it added a record number of paying customers in the quarter at 14,000 βup 180 per cent on the previous Q4.
βThese key financial milestones underscore the momentum across the Slack business and highlight the long-term opportunity for continued investment in the future of work,β it added.
Slack was also referred to on Salesforceβs earnings call with CEO, Marc Benioff, reiterating the integration potential between the pair.
βNow as a customer of Slack, I can tell you weβre using Service Cloud with Slack to improve performance,β he said.
βThatβs an example where our acquisition of Slack has made so much sense. Weβve seen the combination of products like Service Cloud and Slack together just make it so much better for us as a company or for our customers and weβre looking forward to doing so much more of that.
βSlack can be the central nervous system for any company connecting its people and data across systems apps and devices from anywhere. Itβs really an enabler of success from anywhereβ
Slackβs acquisition by Salesforce is yet to be approved and last month the US Department of Justiceβs Antitrust Division asked for more information on the proposed deal.
Salesforce still expects it to complete during the quarter that ends 31 July, it said in a regulatory filing.
Slack said it will be releasing its full fourth-quarter results later this week.
