Spectralink has announced its AI-powered Versity 97 series of smartphones to enhance collaboration and productivity for frontline workers.
Derived from Spectralink’s Versity 95 Series, the Versity 97 maintains the user-preferred, durable form factor while incorporating new technology, such as AI-powered noise suppression. To empower frontline workers, it boasts a class-leading processor, AI noise suppression for clear calls, seamless integration with partners like Oracle and Epic, and proven reliability in a slim, rugged, and lightweight design.

Spectralink is pitching the Versity 97 Series as a powerful and intuitive tool to hone real-time collaboration, rapid decision-making, and swift responses to patient or customer needs.
The Versity 97 includes AI noise suppression, an enhanced hot-swappable battery, a sizeable antimicrobial-coated display, six programmable buttons, advanced camera and scanner technology, and a BLE location beacon. Additionally, the Versity 97 introduces unique native safety capabilities, activated with a button push or motion sensors, ensuring the protection of deskless workers across every job scenario.

Other communication and collaboration capabilities include the integration of Wi-Fi 6/6E, which optimises network performance in crowded environments. Workstation docking supports more intensive tasks, while a BLE location beacon with RTLS functionality facilitates staff and device tracking. Additionally, a dedicated alarm button allows rapid assistance summoning.
The all-in-one device, designed as a lightweight and familiar smartphone, prompts critical job workflows. An optional industrial-grade barcode scanner enables swift scanning speeds, adding versatility to the devIncludingon of a 16MP camera with HDR capabilities allows for detailed and true-colour photos, enhancing the device’s utility in both documentation and video conferencing applications.
Meanwhile, the Versity 97’spowerful processor allows seamless support for demanding applications and multitasking. The large touch screen allows simple input and information viewing, even with gloves. What Else Has Spectralink Been Up To?
Last September, Spectralink launched its new wave of next-generation handsets in the three-model S series to boost frontline worker productivity, security, and safety.
The S series complements Spectralink’s portfolio of Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) solutions for deskless mobile workers. The new handsets comprise a wireless calling solution that is fully interoperable and easy to integrate with alarms, messaging and business telephony platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco, ZoomPhone, RingCentral, Dstny and Avaya.
The handsets’ durable design is complemented by a secure platform directly addressing users’ requirements in the industrial, retail, hospitality, and healthcare sectors. Devices are also equipped with various productivity-improving features, including integration with Microsoft Teams, Bluetooth 5.1 support to enable headsets or other accessories, and messaging functionality.
What Other Frontline Worker-Targeting Solutions Have Been Released Recently?
In December, Microsoft released new Shift features to boost frontline workers’ productivity and user experience.
The latest enhancements included a people count, updates to UX, additional controls for managers, day notes, and importing and exporting time offs and open shifts into and from Excel.
These updates come on top of capabilities announced at Microsoft Ignite last month, which included greater information visibility, marketplace controls, and deploying shifts at scale. It also mentioned the capability of transferring time offs and open shifts via Excel.
