The Two Biggest Obstacles to Cracking Hybrid Work

Security and employee engagement are the two biggest challenges businesses are facing when it comes to creating effective hybrid work environments, according to market analyst Irwin Lazar.

The Metrigy analyst will talk through the emergence of the hybrid working hub, which brings together various elements including workflows, collaboration and communication into a single user experience. 

However, he says that businesses need to address to fundamentals to ensure hybrid work runs smoothly. 

“There are two challenges,” he says. 

“One is the performance and security management issue, so making sure that people who at home have high-quality internet, secure connections, and that you can measure the performance of voice and video applications. That’s kind of the easy part. 

“The hard part is employee engagement and experience. People often feel isolated when they are working from home; they feel like they are not part of a team and miss the social aspects. 

“There are lots of studies around depression and so on, and I think companies are starting to take a more proactive approach in trying to figure out how they measure engagement and happiness.”
