Market leader in video collaboration and communications solutions, Zoom, recently announced new partnership opportunities and enhancements for its UC platform. During the InfoComm event for 2019, Zoom revealed new enterprise management and device support for its Zoom Room offerings, as well as a range of new programs intended to empower channel partners around the globe.
The latest introductions from Zoom are intended to improve the video conferencing experience for customers by making it easier to procure and deploy Zoom Rooms through partnering vendors and channel partners.
What’s New to Zoom Rooms?
First of all, Zoom released a range of enhancements and partnership updates for the Zoom Rooms conferencing solution. The Rooms feature comes with everything a business needs to run a conference room, including video and audio communication, wireless content sharing, calendaring, and more.
At InfoComm, Zoom revealed:
- Single-Vendor Kits shipping: Hardware providers like Crestron, Logitech, and Yealink are now shipping Zoom Room kits on a global basis
- Hardware partnerships with new companies: Zoom now has connections with:
- – Lenovo, with the ThinkSmart Hub 400 for Zoom Rooms
- – DTEN, with the DTEN D7 75 Room Kit
- – Poly, with the Poly Trio for Zoom Rooms integration
- – Shure, with a pro audio DSP system featuring Zoom Rooms certification
- People Counting: By the end of this month (June), Zoom Rooms will be able to detect the number of attendees in a room automatically
- Zoom Device Management: At the end of this month, Zoom will also be launching a beta version of their Device manager tool, which will allow enterprises to mass-update Zoom Rooms controllers and displays
- Zoom Rooms for Touch Updates: The Zoom Rooms for Touch portfolio will now feature capabilities like automatic shape detection, multi-share, and pen thickness alteration
Enhancements to the Channel Partner Programs
The Zoom brand will also be updating its partner programs for the growth and support of the Zoom channel. New programs include:
- Resources: An expanded library of assets and resources now available in the partner portal, along with training events and online education
- Education: New updated learning tracks and qualification courses for partners
- Support: Extended coverage support for partners, with additional account managers and a focused support line
- MDF Portal and Program: The Reseller partner MDF program will help partners to drive demand generation and strategies for go-to-market solutions. The company is also launching an MDF module in the partner portal where people can make requests for funds, or submit claims
According to the Head of Channels and BD for Zoom, Laura Padilla, the channel and hardware partners that Zoom has today are crucial to the company’s growth around the world. The Zoom team is happy to be providing a range of new updates to support and resources for their channel partners.
Already, partners from Zoom’s channel have begun to comment on the updates. The Zoom specialist at SHI International Corp, Elliot Foreman, said that Zoom had been an excellent partner to his brand over the last few years, and the company is looking to continue to grow as part of their channel partner group.
