Rival disties are lining up bids for all, or parts of, ScanSource Europe, sources have told UC Today.
Rumours of ScanSource Europe’s demise circulated in the industry last week, with partners and disties reporting difficulties acquiring stock. A number of UK employees are also thought to have been put in a redundancy process.
But a source has now told UC Today that rival firms are eyeing up “valuable parts” of the fallen distie.
UC Today understands a number of counterparts could be looking at the business, with Nuvias thought to be the frontrunner.
Sources said that no contracts have been signed and any potential deal could still fall through.
Nuvias declined to comment when contacted by UC Today.
Cavell analyst, Matt Townend, said: “I think it’s very likely that ScanSource Europe will find a new owner, probably with another distie in the industry.
“The business has struggled over recent years but there are still very valuable parts to it, particularly with the strong vendor relationships”
“Any new home that ScanSource finds will almost certainly be better than its current one.”
