Inside WittyParrot Knowledge Box for Microsoft Teams
As a prerequisite for using the Teams app, you need an existing WittyParrot account. Also, an IT administrator needs to procure a WittyParrot license and configure the knowledge base to be accessible to users from Teams. WittyParrot is essentially an app that connects your organisation’s existing knowledge base and content asset repository with Microsoft Teams – therefore, there has to be a robust knowledge base ready for integration and use.
Once this is in place, head to Microsoft AppSource and search for WittyParrot Knowledge Box. You can also open the Teams application store from the left navigation pane in Microsoft Teams to find and download WittyParrot.

- View documents in Teams – The WittyParrot app makes articles in your knowledge base visible inside of Microsoft Teams. You can view the entire content repository in a file and folder structure – navigate to the document you need and click to open it in Microsoft Teams. The app opens an editable version of documents (even template files) right next to the folder view.
- Search through your knowledge repository – WittyParrot makes your knowledge repository searchable from Microsoft Teams. Once you have installed the app, look for the search icon on the top menu. Type in your search query to find the document that you need.
- Share knowledge across multiple channels – The viewing window in the WittyParrot app has several embedded buttons that can help you share the content. You can copy templates with just one click or use them as the foundation for new email communication. WittyParrot also lets you share knowledge articles on a channel of your choice.
- Create assets in Teams – One of the key advantages of using WittyParrot is that you can create knowledge articles and access existing ones, thanks to the integration’s bidirectional nature. Click on the + sign icon on the top menu bar after you open the WittyParrot app. You can create either a text or a document file, using a template or from scratch.
- Comment and collaborate – WittyParrot makes it possible to comment on a knowledge article through the Teams’ tab conversation feature. Keep in mind that the WittyParrot app will be pinned as a tab on a channel of your choice, allowing channel members to access and use the integration. You can click on the chat button on the top right of the tab to comment on a currently open article.
- The WittyParrot messaging extension – You can look for knowledge articles on WittyParrot directly in an ongoing conversation. Click on the WittyParrot icon below the message compose area and search for an article to insert content into the conversation directly.
