Digital communications governance provider Theta Lake has unveiled more than 150 new capabilities across its Compliance and Risk Suite.

The release represents one of the most significant recent innovation pushes in the Digital Communications Governance and Archiving (DCGA) space, and is designed to help organisations govern increasingly complex digital and AI-driven communications while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The enhancements span the company’s three integrated modules – Unified Capture, Unified Search & Archiving, and Proactive Compliance – and aim to offer expanded coverage of communication channels, advanced eDiscovery functionality, and deeper AI governance.

“Our latest innovations illustrate where our clients are going, increasingly looking to adopt new AI functionality in the workplace and in Theta Lake across meshed, multi-platform UCC environments, and in doing so, seeking superior DCGA capabilities to ensure regulatory alignment and better compliance and security outcomes,” said Dan Nadir, Chief Product Officer at Theta Lake.

Our new capabilities enable them to modernize their communication choices and embrace the rapidly accelerating need for not just inspecting these new aiComms, but also for ensuring strong AI Governance.”

Breaking Down the Upgrades

Unified Capture: More than 80 new features were introduced, including certified integrations with WhatsApp, WeChat, LINE, Signal, Instagram for Business, Zoom Clips, RingCentral Webinars, Jira, YouTube, and others. The platform now supports capture of AI-generated interactions from tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Zoom AI Companion. New transcript diarization in Microsoft Teams and expanded Zoom capabilities, including Workvivo capture, provide granular compliance oversight across diverse communication modes.

Unified Search & Archiving: With over 30 new upgrades, this module delivers lightning-fast search at scale, unified identity-based legal holds, and enhanced export options for platforms like Relativity. The additions expand BYOS storage support and provide more transparency in legal holds across multi-identity users – critical for global firms managing complex communication records.

Proactive Compliance: More than 50 innovations bolster detection and response. Enhancements include classifiers for sensitive documents and market abuse conversations, expanded coverage of Copilot prompts and responses, and new native language detection in Polish, Turkish, and Cantonese. A standout addition is the AI Compliance Advisor, which brings explainability and automation to compliance reviews, helping teams cut false positives and sharpen incident detection.

Leading the AI Governance Wave

The updates follow the release of Theta Lake’s AI Governance and Inspection Suite, built to ensure that new workplace AI tools like Zoom AI Companion and Microsoft Copilot are used safely, correctly, and compliantly.

With organisations rushing to adopt AI for efficiency, Theta Lake is positioning itself as the safeguard against regulatory risk and data misuse.

“With over 150 new capabilities spanning AI governance, mobile messaging, social media, and more, Theta Lake is setting the pace for what modern DCGA should look like,” said Zeus Kerravala, Principal Analyst at ZK Research.

Organisations need compliance solutions that keep up with rapidly evolving communication tools, while making compliance faster, more accurate, and cost-effective. Theta Lake continues to lead in this space.”

By consolidating capture, archiving, search, and proactive enforcement into a unified platform, the company is aiming to break down silos and eliminate the inefficiencies of legacy compliance systems.

Its focus on time-to-value, open APIs, and unrestricted data access can ensure that customers can leverage their communication records for compliance, investigations, and business insights without barriers.
