GoTo has announced the launch and general availability of GoTo Connect AI Receptionist, an AI-driven call-handling solution.
“GoTo Connect AI Receptionist isn’t just a tool – it’s a revolution for SMBs challenged to do more with less,”
Olga Lagunova, Chief Product and Technology Officer at GoTo, said.
This AI receptionist, the first offering in GoTo Connect’s new Digital Workforce portfolio, is designed to work alongside human employees.
A fresh announcement, this follows closely after RingCentral’s AI Receptionist release that targets the same market sector and offers similar features.
AI Receptionist Examined
GoTo Connect AI Receptionist is a 24/7 always-on smart assistant that helps organizations avoid missing calls.
Using generative AI technology, its aim is to reduce costs and recover lost business that small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) face when they’re otherwise at capacity with human agents.
Part of the GoTo Connect platform, AI Receptionist can use voice to greet callers with human-like conversations in more than 10 languages. Equally, it can intelligently route calls to the right destination and resolve routine inquiries by tapping into knowledge bases and FAQs.
“It provides businesses with an always-on, intelligent virtual receptionist that delivers immediate value to the existing workforce by handling peaks in call volume, supporting agents during off hours, and tackling mundane tasks to leave employees free to focus on the most valuable work,” said Lagunova.
In addition to reducing missed calls and informing and redirecting customers, the additional capabilities include:
Follow-ups: Delivers AI-powered follow-ups via email or through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools following a call – even after business hours or during peak times.
Easy setup: AI Receptionist is ready to go in minutes, with reporting to monitor all interactions so admins can adjust operations with clear rules guiding how the AI handles various interactions while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
Personalization: Ability to tailor the voice of the AI Receptionist to reflect the tone of the business in any of the 10 languages, including international and American English, Portuguese, French, Spanish, German.
The AI Receptionist is now generally available, with a select number of SMBs already having had access during beta testing.
An Age of AI Receptionists
When RingCentral first released its AI receptionist earlier last month, it represented the first instance of a UC player bringing AI to voice.
With only RingCentral having done it initially—and with many in the industry worrying about the future viability of voice—it was unclear if their leap into AI-driven solutions would set the industry’s direction.
However, GoTo’s entry into the market with its solution seemingly solidifies the position that AI receptionists are here to stay.
