Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s Rainbow Office will release further updates, including Rainbow Office Rooms live closed captions at the end of July 2022.

Through its partnership with RingCentral, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise created a new cloud communications solution called ‘Rainbow Office’.

Rainbow Office became an official public offering on March 31st, 2021, facilitating remote collaboration in meeting rooms between employees.

Sébastien Baillot, Product Line Manager of Rainbow Office, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, spoke about the customer feedback it has received since it launched Rainbow Office: “Customers like the fact that the solution is scalable, and that once it is in place, you can easily have a beta test.

“You can enable the solution for a certain number of customers or employees of a company.

“It is easy to put in place for an organisation which is divided across several areas. You can have an international or national division with several offices.

“The solution really allows you to onboard at your pace, if you want to have a full deployment, or if you want to go step by step.”

The features of Rainbow Office

Rainbow Office is an all-in-one cloud communications solution which provides message, video, and phone capabilities on any device and from anywhere.

The solution results from a partnership between Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and RingCentral, a cloud communications and collaboration solutions provider. Critically, with Rainbow Office, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise leverage RingCentral VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communications service.

Rainbow Office has been designed with post-pandemic, flexible working needs in mind, enabling workers to communicate and collaborate on projects seamlessly.

Scalable meetings allow guests to join with a single click, and ‘Rainbow Office Rooms’ and ‘Rooms Connector’ licenses facilitate remote collaboration in meeting rooms between employees.

Rainbow Office Rooms, currently in beta, improves meeting interactions by adding nonverbal reactions for participants to catch the host’s attention without interrupting the meeting.

Rainbow Office is a unique solution

Baillot believes one of the key differentiators of Rainbow Office is its integration capability with devices and third-party applications.

The Embedded Dialler and Direct Routing for Microsoft Teams are also highly beneficial and popular functionality for users.

Microsoft Teams is great, Baillot says, for messaging, meetings, and more. However, RingCentral offers a better solution when it comes to coding with local phone numbers.

The phone capability for Rainbow Office is one of the main selling points. Users can benefit from a local phone number in 110 countries worldwide.

Plugging phones and headsets into Rainbow Office will allow you to utilise the complete UCaaS communication solution with the best possible user experience.

Future updates to Rainbow Office

Baillot spoke about some of the Rainbow Office feature updates coming soon: “There are a lot of features this year. We will release something like 100 new features, which is quite a lot.

“The two main focuses, in terms of new features, are room capabilities and video meeting enhancements. On the other side, we are working on deep integrations with Microsoft Teams.

“As part of the release at the end of July, we are working towards Rainbow Office Rooms closed captions, making meetings easier to follow and more accessible.” Rainbow Office is available in the UK and Europe, and it plans to expand its service offering further.
