LogMeIn, one of the market leaders in the creation of collaboration tools for modern businesses, recently introduced a slew of exciting updates to its collaborative tools. The LogMeIn leading web collaboration tool, GoToMeeting has now been enhanced with new integrations (including Microsoft Teams), audio enhancements, and an updated mobile and desktop experience.

At a time when remote work is at an all-time high, and governments are making efforts to reduce non-essential travel, convenient web-based meetings are crucial. GoToMeeting has already seen a ten times increase in average usage during 2020, with mobile downloads up by more than 370% on iOS, and 600% on Android. Here are some of the most significant changes to LogMeIn.

Expanding the LogMeIn Partner Ecosystem

LogMeIn recently launched its GoTo Marketplace for partnerships and integrations. Some of the new collaborations added to the marketplace include integrations from Microsoft Teams. This allows businesses to optimize productivity and workflow by combining GoTo and Microsoft Teams.

The integration means that Teams users can quickly launch GoToConnect and GoToMeeting from within the Teams environment. This will ensure that people who love Microsoft Teams productivity can benefit from high-quality and fast meetings with external participants through GoTo technology.

GoTo has also added a new integration with the Learning Management Solution Docebo. GoToMeeting and Docebo, as well as GoToWebinar and GoToTraining will give businesses the tools they need to deliver enterprise development experiences with the simplicity they crave. Admins will be able to enable GoTo products for training through their LMS.

Alongside the new Docebo and Microsoft Teams integrations, GoToMeeting also offers plugins for Google Calendar and Office 365, to help ensure a consistent workflow in the platforms that businesses are already using. This will help users to schedule meetings without leaving their email application.

Updates to GoToMeeting Audio

Another major update to the GoToMeeting environment comes in the form of new audio improvements. Now that audio quality is more crucial in the age of remote working, the company has updated their platform for phone and VoIP lines with:

  • Better audio: Even in limited network conditions: GoToMeeting as enhanced how mobile and desktop endpoints connect with the servers at the LogMeIn data centres. A more reliable transport protocol means that the technology can adapt to network conditions and optimise data transmissions, allowing for fewer garbled audio moments
  • Noise suppression: With more employees working remotely, distractions and noises are more likely to be a problem. The improved GoToMeeting audio quality includes better filtering for background noise to help keep meeting participants focused
  • New Tool-Free and Call-me Options: GoToMeeting is simplifying the way that colleagues and customers connect with new call-me and toll-free options. There are now over 60 countries available for both options

Enhancing Reliability and Security

Following the surge in remote working strategies, LogMeIn is now working harder to ensure that voice, video, and remote IT and access products are as secure as possible. LogMeIn’s business continuity plan is available for GoToMeeting users, to ensure that all operations and products teams are still functional when working remotely. Since the disruption caused by COVID-19, LogMeIn also has increased network and memory capacity to avoid single points of failure within various locations and improve the ability to move traffic between centres.

Additional product security updates include:

  • Mobile enhancements: With the highest Android and iOS satisfaction levels in the industry, the mobile applications for GoToMeeting have been updated to keep customers connected wherever they are. This includes adding a CallKit for iOS users to help them multitask when on a GoToMeeting call
  • Security compliance: All the tiers of GoToMeeting available now come with security features like SSL encryption, HIPAA Readiness, and AES-256 bit encryption
  • Password protection and meeting lock: It’s more crucial now than ever to take advantage of security features for video meetings to ensure that the right people are in your conversations. Meeting lock keeps guests who aren’t invited out of a meeting. With password protection, only the people with the right code can gain entry
  • Secure content sharing: With meetings generating more transcriptions and recordings, GoToMeeting has increased the security capabilities of these assets. Within he security preferences and content sharing environments, users can choose the content they want to share, and how long it should be there to view
