Broadvoice, one of the market leaders in communication solutions for small to mid-sized business, recently announced a new solution. This award-winning provider of UC and SIP trunking solutions has revealed that the Broadvoice b-hive UCaaS platform can now integrate with Microsoft Teams.

The Broadvoice for Microsoft Teams offering is now available within the Microsoft AppSource marketplace. This service will empower business leaders to access some of the enterprise-class communication functionality from Broadvoice B-Hive. More importantly, this functionality will be delivered natively from within the Teams application, or on any mobile device or computer.

Supporting the Demand for Microsoft Teams

In the current landscape, the remote workforce, referred to by Broadvoice as the “anywhere” workforce, needs more flexibility. According to the Chief Product Officer for Broadvoice, George Mitsopoulos, this new workforce has taken over the landscape, and Microsoft Teams is helping to lead the charge, growing 275% since the fall of 2019. There’s been a substantial increase in the number of people using Microsoft Teams, from 20 million, to 75 million users.

Businesses today are turning to Teams as a way of replicating their natural office environment with employees that need to work from home. As the preferred hub for messaging and collaboration, Teams offers a lot of functionality, but it’s been lacking in one crucial area: voice communications. The Broadvoice for Microsoft Teams product aims to fill this gap.

Users of Broadvoice for Microsoft Teams will be able to make and take calls from directly within the Microsoft Teams application, unifying messaging, collaboration, and voice all in the same environment. Users will also be able to unlock the advanced calling features and contact centre functionalities offered by B-Hive. This includes features like call queues, auto attendant, call routing, and faxing.

Empowering a New Workforce

According to Mitsopoulos, thanks to the new service, businesses can avoid running their call centre and call handling tools separately from their collaboration platform. The Broadvoice for Microsoft Teams solution is an add-on that’s available for any Cloud PBX seat with b-hive. You don’t need to install any extra software or hardware, and administrators can just switch the service on for employees.

Broadvoice for Microsoft Teams and the B-Hive service are both hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This functionality is also support by around-the-clock support and monitoring from the team, with security included as well as end-to-end encryption. The Microsoft Teams and Broadvoice package is now available for a limited time with a free 30-day trial alongside any paid Cloud PBX seat for b-hive.
