Microsoft, leading provider of collaboration and productivity solutions, recently announced the extended availability of it’s leading app, Microsoft Teams. Now supporting more than 115 million daily active users as of last month, Teams is the leading app for enterprise collaboration. Now, Microsoft has announced that the app will be available for Windows 10 on ARM.

The new native ARM64 Teams app is available to download now from the Microsoft Teams website. The ARM64 version of the desktop app will come with all the functionality of the Teams desktop app. This technology arrives shortly after information about the ARM64 application leaked early this month. According to Microsoft, the solution is optimized and updated for all ARM-based devices, including the Surface Pro X.

The Latest Version of Microsoft Teams

Bill Weidenborner, Senior Product Manager at Microsoft, confirmed that the ARM64 Microsoft Teams app is now available at version number 1.3.00.27972. The service is identical to the solution available for web browsers, Microsoft Windows, and MacOS, so you shouldn’t have to worry about any inconsistencies in functionality or capabilities.

Notably, users that have devices running the 32-bit version of the Microsoft Teams desktop app through an emulation on Windows ARM will automatically update to the new official app. Microsoft says that you won’t need to take any further action to get the latest version of Teams, the update will happen on its own.

On the Teams UserVoice website and Reddit, some Microsoft Teams users have already confirmed that the updated version has made significant improvements to the app. The latest iteration offers greater performance and reliability on ARM devices.

The new release also marks Microsoft officially making the Teams app available on all major platforms. This indicates that we may see the arrival of more apps being re-designed for the ARM64 architecture from competing companies going forward.
