Microsoft Teams has been one of the (very) big winners in the global war against the virus.

Remote working has fuelled an eye-popping increase in usage, and the likely hybrid model of home/office/customer site working going forward is set to sustain continued growth.

Functionality, scalability and user experience have teamed-up to win the hearts and minds of millions for whom it is now the go-to mobile communication platform; apparently delivering on every front.

For the channel – where commoditisation is king Teams has, and is, delivering big-time too.

So, what if there was a way of adding yet more to the Teams tool kit?

What if EXTRA functionality could be affordably integrated?

Everyone loves a brilliant after-market bolt-on, right?

Value-add is, after all, the reseller’s holy grail.

“Application add-ons have the potential to inject significant fresh impetus into the channel marketing model,” says UK-based Ben Djamaluddin, Business Development Head at Microsoft and Cisco app innovator, telisca.

As demand grows for more sophisticated responses to constantly evolving communication challenges, it is the latest app technology which will more often than not provide the solutions”

Put slightly differently, as brilliant UC continues to underpin our post-pandemic ways of working, even the world’s market-leading integrated mobile comms platforms will benefit from gap-plugging new innovations.

Well-established in France since 2004 and developer of off-the-shelf end point apps for Cisco as well as Microsoft, telisca is now on a channel partner recruitment drive in the UK – and offers precisely that kind of bolt-on Teams app capable of adding customer value AND delivering some of that much sought-after extra commoditisation.

Sitting independently on a host’s network, but seamlessly integrated with any customised user interface, telisca’s innovative ‘Voice Alert’ solution provides an organisation with the ability to inform its people of issues and emergencies in real-time via its always-on Teams platform.

Distribution lists can be limitlessly customised; alerts can be triggered in a myriad of ways; multiple end points can be engaged simultaneously or phased.

That’s targeted, business-critical emergency information relayed instantly, uniformly and simultaneously to all those who need it; supplementing or even replacing email, texts and/or calls.

“Our biggest user of the app currently is the World Health Organisation,” says Djamaluddin.

As well as alerts being sent to their people worldwide via Teams, they wanted us to integrate it with voice messaging via a physical public address system throughout their headquarters in Geneva.

“An NHS customer in the UK has linked the app to automatic door closing mechanisms so that areas of the hospital are sealed off at the same time as a message going to all Teams screens whenever an appropriate emergency is triggered.

The integration and inter-operability options are pretty much limitless. If a customer has a specific need, we can custom-develop the app to match their requirements.

Obviously, all of that support and development is a powerful additional selling point for our channel partners.

For those partners to be able to offer this kind of extra Teams functionality to their business customers represents a significant opportunity for all parties.”

New, easy-to-sell, easy-to-deploy, easy-to-support product to add to your offering?

Teams, it seems, really is the gift that keeps giving
