Swyx, a communications company dedicated to software-based solutions for UC&C, recently announced a new upgrade to its technology. The UC specialist has built further capabilities into the Swyx Meeting cloud service to support a rapidly expanding audience.

In an age where remote working is becoming the norm for many businesses, video is often the key to an engaging meeting. Swyx provides an easy-to-access WebRTC solution for video conversations, ideal for boosting collaboration in companies. Building on top of Swyx’s existing collection of award-winning UC solutions, Swyx Meetings brings teamwork to the cloud.

The service now includes support for up to 25 video streams on the same screen. This new grid-view will ensure that all participants can keep track of their team members throughout the meeting.

Updating the Meeting Experience

Swyx has always been committed to increasing the accessibility of collaboration tools for today’s business leaders. The unified communication environment provided by Swyx covers a wide range of functions for modern business leaders. The now-improved Swyx Meeting landscape provides even more opportunities to boost collaboration in companies.

Depending on the number of participants in a call, the grid-based layout ensures that everyone can see each other and hear participants at the same time. Users also have the option to “drag and drop” video feeds to place the people that they need in their line of sight. If someone speaks and they’re not transmitting video, Swyx will display the name of the person and their icon instead.

Swyx is also rolling out a new “active speaker” view. This will showcase the person currently speaking in the meeting in full-screen. This option is likely to be more appealing for one-on-one meetings and conversations with fewer people. The grid view, on the other hand, will be excellent for larger business discussions.

Supporting the Video Landscape

Other upgrades that Swyx is adding to the Meeting service include a new option for users to see more clearly and quickly whether participants are muted. Conference leaders can un-mute participants if necessary, to speed the conversation along.

Swyx Meetings offers all the features that users need to successfully connect and collaborate in this new digital age. With the option to easily organise conferences featuring up to 25 external and internal participants, communicating in a business will be a much smoother experience. What’s more, the WebRTC technology behind Swyx makes access simple too. All you need to join or start a meeting is a browser on a tablet, computer, or smartphone.

Employees or team members that need to join the meeting without an internet connection can get involved too. Participants can dial-in by telephone with a dedicated number.

Swyx will continue to improve and update its Meeting solution in the months ahead, to help partners provide their clients with a more advanced and flexible experience.
