Zoom is joining forces with Google Cloud to adopt and help shape Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, paving the way for smarter, more seamless AI teamwork across enterprise systems.

Announced at Google I/O 2025, Zoom will integrate with Google Cloud Agentspace to enable meeting scheduling through AI agents, saving Zoom and Gmail users time going back and forth to schedule meetings.

The integration is set to launch later this summer, and the initial implementation showcases how A2A-enabled agents can identify meeting context in Gmail, automatically schedule Zoom Meetings, and update Google Calendar — all while keeping participants informed and launching sessions at the appropriate time.

“Zoom is an open platform, and this integration builds on our investment in Zoom AI Companion and its multi-agent collaboration capabilities,” said Ross Mayfield, Head of Product Workplace AI and Strategic Integrations at Zoom.

Our contribution to the A2A protocol enables deeper integration with Google Cloud and other third-party platforms, giving customers flexibility and choice.

“This collaboration will help bring AI agents together in our open ecosystem, making it possible for external agents like ServiceNow NowAssist to run in AI Companion, and for AI Companion to run on other A2A platforms like Google Agentspace and ServiceNow AgentFabric.”

The key benefits of Zoom’s A2A integration include:

  • Reduced technical barriers in cross-platform AI integration, enabling seamless interaction between Zoom AI Companion and external A2A-enabled agents without custom integration code.
  • Enhanced workflow automation and improved efficiency for enterprise customers.
  • Future support for more sophisticated multi-agent AI interactions.

What This Means for Tech Leaders

Zoom says it will continue contributing to the development of the A2A protocol and ecosystem, working closely with partners to expand capabilities that help customers maximise their AI investments across their technology stack.

More seamless collaboration with agents from Google and ServiceNow via the A2A protocol could give tech leaders a powerful edge in automation and productivity, including:

  • A Unified AI Ecosystem: Orchestrating workflows across platforms, Zoom, Google Workspace, and ServiceNow, without needing custom integrations. This could reduce complexity, speed up deployment, and enable more cohesive operations.
  • Smarter Decision-Making: Multi-agent collaboration means data and context can be shared across tools in real time. Zoom’s AI Companion might schedule a meeting based on actions triggered by ServiceNow or update a Google Calendar from a workflow, keeping leaders better informed with less manual coordination.
  • Faster, More Automated Workflows: Repetitive tasks like ticket routing, meeting scheduling, and follow-up documentation can now be handled by cooperating AI agents. This allows teams to focus on strategic initiatives rather than operational busywork.
  • Scalability with Fewer Resources: These AI systems work together out-of-the-box, so users can scale automation without hiring specialised teams to build and maintain integrations, freeing up budget and resources.
  • Competitive Agility: By leveraging interoperable AI, tech leaders can respond faster to business needs, drive innovation, and stay ahead in a landscape where speed and efficiency are key.

In short, the collaboration could unlock a new level of enterprise intelligence in which AI agents act not just as assistants but as a connected digital workforce.

“The Agent2Agent protocol establishes a critical framework for AI agents to communicate seamlessly across platforms,” said Rao Surapaneni, VP & GM, Business Application Platform at Google Cloud.

“Through our partnership with Zoom, we will remove silos that have limited AI’s potential in the workplace by empowering agents to collaborate regardless of their platform or system of origin.”
