First launched in 1925, Bang & Olufsen (B&O) is one of the best-known producers of high-end consumer electronics in the world. The Danish company designs everything from telephones to audio products and television sets – all with a distinct focus on user-friendly design and aesthetics.
At the end of December 2018, the Bang & Olufsen team revealed that they would be welcoming a new member to their ranks in 2019. Snorre Kjesbu will be taking on the role of “Head of Product Creation and Fulfilment” for the company. He will also be executive vice president and a member of the executive management board for the brand. The plan is for Kjesbu to become a fundamental part of the team by the 1st of March this year.
Snorre Kjesbu’s History in Technology
Before taking this new role with Bang & Olufsen, Snorre was well-known for his work as the Vice President and General Manager for the “Collaboration Endpoint Technology Group.” While leading the CETG, Kjesbu offered direction and guidance for everything from innovation and development, to product management and operations. His history in collaboration endpoints makes him a valuable addition to a team producing state-of-the-art desk phone devices.
Snorre also has a history working at Cisco Systems under his belt. For fifteen years, Kjesbu held multiple roles with the communication company, including Vice President and General Manager for the IP Phone and TelePresence segment of the business. Before working with Cisco Systems, Kjesbu also worked for nine years with ABB, supporting a wide range of technology roles.
A Useful Addition to the Team
In a press release about his new member of staff, the CEO of Bang & Olufsen, Henrik Clausen commented on the valuable expertise and background that Kjesbu would be bringing to the role. Clausen noted that Kjesbu has an impressive history with innovation and product development across a variety of global companies, and B&O believes that he will be crucial to the company’s aim to continue developing innovative new products.
Henrik told the press that he was looking forward to welcoming Snorre to the Bang & Olufsen team, and keen to see what the new member of staff will do to help B&O become the most “desired” brand for audio technology in the world today.
