Void Acoustics recently transformed Hewlett-Packard Enterprise’s new Texas campus with revolutionary audio technology for enhanced collaboration and communication.
Designed and built during the pandemic in Story, Texas, with input from i.e. Smart Systems, the campus took two years to be constructed and comprises five-story buildings and a 440,000-square-foot rentable space. The campus features over 70 meeting rooms and flexible spaces to encourage creativity and effective communication.
Intending to be a cutting-edge collaboration space with enhanced hybrid working at its epicentre for HPE’s 2,200 employees as well as visitors, Void Acoustics was contracted to replicate the advanced design and immersive experience acoustically.
HPE’s commitment to a positive environment extends outdoors, envisioning a space where visitors transition from a relaxing sports bar to a large-scale event venue. This space supports a variety of activities, with Void Acoustics providing exceptional sound, from intense basketball games to bass-driven gaming tournaments at the sports bar.
i.e. Smart Systems identified HPE’s need for powerful sound to stand out on a busy campus. Impressed by Void speakers at a Houston restaurant, they recommended Void to HPE with both i.e. Smart Systems and HPE enthusing about the outcome.
Jeff Vinklarek, Senior Vice President – Professional Services for i.e. Smart Systems, commented:
Void’s speakers sounded exceptional – the subwoofers are amazing. When we were doing initial sound checks, we turned the sound up to the max, and you could hear it a mile away. It was so loud that the Earth was shaking. I’d heard Void speakers before, but not in an outdoor space. We were freaking out about how impressive the sound was when we did the outdoor test.”
More Specifics On The Installation
The installation was considered seamless, with the main challenge being to deliver punchy, powerful sound in a busy outdoor environment without compromising fidelity. Some speakers were strategically mounted around a glass walkway beneath the massive 100ft x 40ft screen, as handled by i.e. Smart Systems’ installation team.
The result was an integrated audio system that exceeded the project’s objectives. The HPE headquarters now features Void Acoustics’ cutting-edge speakers, creating a vibrant atmosphere on campus.
The basketball court sports two Nexus 6s, two subwoofers, and a pair of Air Vantage speakers. The 100ft x 40ft screen in the central courtyard is complemented by Nexus 6 speakers for powerful sound. The lively sports bar features two subwoofers and Tri Motion speakers from the Air series.
