A report from the Economist Intelligence Unit discovered that 60% of employees feel that working with mobile technology helps to improve their business productivity. On top of that, another 45% say that mobile use improves creativity. While, in the past, mobile technology was often seen as a distraction for employees, mobility in the mid-market today could be the key to a more agile, innovative organisation.

As workers continue to move outside of the office into remote and flexible working strategies, mobility communications have seen as astronomical rate of growth. In fact, mobility service providers are transforming the workplace by securing BYOD devices, improving cloud-based technology, and ensuring that everyone has access to the tools they need to be productive, wherever they are.

Improving Productivity with Mid-Market Mobility

According to Citrix research, around 61% of today’s employees report working part-time outside of the office. Modern mobile devices, as well as UC on the cloud,  mean that experts can tap into the resources they need from smartphones, tablets, and laptops at home, as well as in the office.

Employees are becoming increasingly empowered to work from their phones as life behind a standard deskphone becomes less appealing. Today’s modern talent wants to be able to work wherever they feel the most productive, and that means that staff need to be able to connect wherever they are, without the restrictions of desk phones and corporate computers. With more options to work how and when they choose, today’s employees can achieve more productivity and deliver better customer experience (CX).

Increasing Customer Satisfaction

Mid-market mobility isn’t just a good thing for the average worker, it’s a positive step for brand bottom-lines too. After all, modern experts want to achieve better work/life balance, and they feel that they can do this better in a corporate community that embraces mobility. When employees can work from home or on-the-go, they appreciate the agility, feel happier, and get more done.

BYOD (Bring your Own Device) strategies and mobile device programmes can help employees to access the flexibility they need. Ultimately, happier employees work better with clients and lead to a more satisfied consumer base. Happy employees are 11% more productive.

Boosting Security

The concept of mid-market mobility has led to some controversy in the marketplace, as businesses worry about the complexities of looking after data on diverse employee devices. In fact, around 65% of IT leaders consider mobile security to be one of the biggest challenges they face today.

Without the right procedures and policies around the use of mobile devices for work, employees could potentially damage security for the entire workforce, and lead to problems with data leakage and privacy concerns. However, there is a positive side to all this worry. The rise of mobility in the mid-market has forced companies to place security as a top priority when choosing new technology, rather than just looking at it as an afterthought.

Cutting Costs

Finally, having employees ready to work on a mobile platform can help to reduce company costs. After all, not only can mobile employees work outside of the office environment, reducing the need for real estate overheads, but workers can also use their own devices inside of the business, meaning that companies don’t have to pay for things like landline connections.

Throughout the mid-market world, mobile has pushed companies to rethink the way they conduct business and to adapt in ways that we might never have considered before. Today’s brands are being pushed to innovate from a new perspective, motivating workers with greater freedom, and the power to conduct conversations more efficiently.
