Slack Delivers a Pizza the Action with Domino’s

Have you ever found yourself feeling peckish at the office?

We’ve all been exposed to long nights and exhausting projects before, and during those fast-paced meetings and late-night work hours, it seems incredibly frustrating to have to pick up the phone or load up a new website just to order some food. Fortunately, thanks to a new integration between Domino’s and Slack, you can be productive and satisfied at the same time.

Just like any business, Domino’s have actively been looking for ways to get their product into more hands around the marketplace. Since pizza is a great product for just about any vertical, it’s no surprise that Domino’s have decided to expand their offerings by connecting with business users and collaborating teams through Slack.

The Domino’s and Slack Integration

While you can already order your Domino’s pizza online through a separate web page, switching out of your company intranet and making that order can be a complicated and time-consuming experience – particularly when everyone in a meeting is focused on reaching a project goal. That’s why Domino’s have attempted to streamline the way you can order your work lunches, by allowing you to install the Domino’s app within Slack.

All you need to do to order pizza directly from your Slack framework, is go to the app directory and click to install the ordering app from Domino’s. The app downloads directly onto the workspace, then Slack team members can either create an order directly through a Slack message or collaborate on a group order using a channel in the software.

Grabbing a Pizza the Collaboration Market

It’s clear to see that digital transformation is something that’s affecting almost every industry today. By getting involved with the collaborative side of the workplace, Domino’s are taking the next step in their own transformation, and potentially improving their chances of selling more pizzas too.

Ultimately, it’s not much of a surprising move from the food company – as they’ve never been shy about working with new technology before. You can already order your Domino’s pizza from a range of different platforms if you don’t want to pick a phone, such as Microsoft’s Cortana, Amazon’s Alexa, and even Facebook Messenger. In the past, the brand even experimented with using delivery drones for some of their customers.

According to the Senior Vice President and Digital Officer for Domino’s, Dennis Maloney, the new integration will mean that teams working on an important project won’t have to cut down on their productivity just to enjoy a delicious meal. Domino’s are focusing on new ways to make ordering as convenient and simple as possible for their customers, and that means making sure that workplaces have access to plenty of pizza too. From now on, you’ll be able to organize a group lunch or dinner order with all of the people in your group – regardless of where they might be in the office.
