As we continue to move forward into 2020, Alcatel-Lucent enterprise, one of the leading providers of network, communication, and cloud solutions, is building on a powerful century-long history.

The business was originally founded in 1919 and celebrated 100 years in the connectivity landscape last year. Today, ALE has evolved from a French telecoms company to a global force in innovative and disruptive technology. As communications have evolved, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has grown with them. Now, the company serves over 830,000 customers, delivering expertise in everything from government, healthcare, and education, to transportation and hospitality.

Recently, ALE implemented a new data centre solutions for the California State University using OmniVista and OmniSwitch solutions for less latency and faster downloads. The solution saved Cal State around $100 million. Additionally, a government project for Germany provided mobile comms, wireless LAN and other solutions to the environment.

Building a Brighter Future

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is in the process of serving huge companies engaged in large-scale changes. The company is convinced that its model, combining business and organisational dimensions with human expertise, will provide customers with a fantastic and unique offering.

All the while, ALE is continuing to support humanitarian organisations around the world. For instance, the company collaborates with Mercy Ships on providing clinical care to vulnerable communities worldwide. In 2020, the company will be using its expertise to upgrade the Mercy vessel with more advanced systems. As ALE CEO, Jack Chen, notes, ALE believes that it’s important to “enrich local and global communities” as it strives to reach strategic objectives.

Additionally, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has been acting as a technology partner for the South Africa NTT Cycling team. This sponsorship, which extends into 2020, allows ALE to provide collaboration and connectivity tools for a leading cycling team. The group now has fantastic connectivity between staff and riders in all environments.

As it steps into its 101st year, the ALE brand will be concentrating on reinforcing its position in the marketplace, supporting top-line growth and developing new digital age technologies. ALE recently received official health data hosting certifications from the national health agency in France, and through a partnership with Cofrex, ALE will be equipping the French pavilion at the 2020 Dubai exhibition in October (TBC). ALE will also be outfitting the 4,700 square metre space with communication and networking solutions to ensure that all visitors can connect securely.

As the industry continues to move at an incredible pace, ALE believes that its’ important to take insights from its history, while keeping an eye on the future.
