Avaya’s Most Innovative Product win at the 2022 UC Awards demonstrates how it’s “reimagining the future of communications,” according to Avaya OneCloud Marketing Leader Steve Brock.

Avaya bagged the Most Innovative Product Award for the Avaya Media Processing Core (MPC).

The Media Processing Core, which is at the heart of the Avaya OneCloud “Core + Four” architecture, moves the processing of the communications media from the edge of the network to the cloud, where communication experiences can be more easily composed and delivered.

Brock said:

“Avaya has always played a leading role in global business communications innovation. This is one more example of that.

“We have introduced new technology that gives Avaya Experience Builders – which consists of Avaya experts, customers, channel partners and tech partners – a competitive edge, with a much more efficient way to create and deliver new AI-powered employee and customer experiences. ”

Hosted in the public cloud, the Media Processing Core’s multi-tenant, multi-app design masks the complexity of hosting, developing, controlling, and scaling real-time media services.

The Media Processing Core uses the cloud to deliver media processing efficiency as media is processed in the cloud and then sent in a single stream to the endpoint.

This drives consistency across touchpoints and enables new workflows to be built with continuous innovation.

“This differs from other solutions where the cloud just acts as a switch for media streams before being processed at each device,” Brock added.

As a result, businesses can be greener due to less energy consumption and more efficient as there is less bandwidth usage.

Moving media processing from the edge into the cloud also enables the Avaya OneCloud platform to accelerate AI innovation.

An example of this is Avaya’s AI Noise Removal which is enabled by the Avaya Media Processing Core and can be deployed to Avaya UC endpoints.

Avaya has also designed the Media Processing Core to break down communications silos and, in turn, allows the vendor’s portfolio of UCaaS, CCaaS, CPaaS, and Workstream Collaboration to work together as one.

The Avaya Media Processing Core allows businesses to protect their investments by delivering layered innovation on top of existing assets to connect them with cloud and AI capabilities.

The Media Processing Core can also reduce business risk by providing unrivalled uptime, scale, security and compliance without any firewall issues.
