Significant Microsoft Teams Premium Update Arrives to Enhance Collaboration
Microsoft has launched a new update for Teams Premium to boost productivity and collaboration.
Among the new Teams Premium features are the addition of meeting “Chapters” and “Topics” to Intelligent Recap, expanded language support and new engagement analytics. Also arriving are new webinar capabilities, including customisable email communications, while admins receive new capabilities, such as automatically enabling background blur for their organisation’s meetings and proactively monitoring meeting quality.
Nicole Herskowitz, Vice President at Microsoft Teams, wrote in an accompanying blog post:
The combination of intelligent productivity, engaging experiences, and advanced protection makes Teams Premium the smart place to work. And we’re continuing to innovate across the entire breadth of capabilities so employees can not only keep up, but also thrive in the new era of collaboration.”
There is also an update to live translated meeting transcripts, and Teams Premium users can now view those meeting transcripts during the meeting on the transcript side pane.
Mitel Announces New COO and Head of M&A
Mitel has appointed Charles-Henry Duroyan as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).
Duroyon will oversee Mitel’s global business operations, supply chain, and data privacy office. He will also manage the company’s strategic planning and M&A initiatives.

After Mitel’s recent acquisition of Unify and its plans for future market share expansion, Duroyon’s responsibilities will include developing operational strategies that support company growth initiatives and optimise organisational efficiency while maintaining quality, compliance, and accountability in critical business metrics.
Crestron’s Automate VX Awarded’ First of its Kind’ Teams Certification
Crestron’s multi-camera switching solution, Automate VX, has been awarded a “first-of-its-kind” certification as a Microsoft Teams Room Device for large and extra-large rooms.
Automate VX produces excellent meeting experiences with production-style cuts that Crestron describes as “unparalleled” in the market, taking Microsoft Teams meetings to the next level.

This announcement signals the latest collaboration in Crestron and Microsoft’s 15-year partnership, in which both companies have been working together to create optimal meeting experiences.
Zoom Events and Swoogo Partner on Innovating Hybrid Events
Zoom and event management platform Swoogo have announced a partnership to deliver exceptional hybrid events for customers.
Zoom Events, the event branch of the tech giant, also launched a forthcoming native integration at Las Vegas’s IMEX 2023. This collaboration intends to “bridge the gap between in-person and virtual audiences for the most effective hybrid event experience”, as described by Zoom.
“This integration has the potential to bring together larger and more engaged audiences, making events and conferences easier to access for everyone,” said Wei Li, Head of Zoom Events, Webinar, Sessions, and Chat at Zoom. “Hybrid events are the future. With the power of Zoom and Swoogo, it’s easier than ever for hosts to bring together audiences of all sizes and for attendees to join no matter where they are in the world.”
Swoogo and Zoom Events aim to seamlessly empower event professionals to merge both platforms’ capabilities. Through the Zoom and Swoogo integration, customers can create events within Zoom Events or Swoogo and automatically sync event data between platforms smoothly.
This native integration will be commercially available in early 2024.
