Based in Cheshire, ICT and telecoms provider, Chess, recently acquired the cyber-security business “Foursys”. The company was recently named the top UK education partner for Sophos, and is predicted to add around £11m in turnover to Chess’s current economic standing, bringing their run-rate up to over £120 million.

Located in Suffolk, the team of experts in Foursys offer service across the United Kingdom, with more than two decades of experience when it comes to delivering cyber-security consultancy solutions to corporate sectors, SMBs, public sector solutions, and organisations.

Chess already offers services to the masses, including product installation and supply, storage, hosted and cloud-based solutions, network infrastructure, managed services, business continuity, professional services, and unified communication system management. The most recent addition is no doubt a perfect fit for Chess’ current portfolio.

New Growth for Chess

According to the chief executive and founder of Chess, David Pollock, cyber security represents an obvious and significant concern for most modern businesses. Chess believes that Foursys shares their passion when it comes to creating and delivering a range of technological advantages to the modern consumer. They feel that the latest acquisition should enhance their security offering for customers.

Thanks to the security expertise offered by Foursys, Chess believes that they should have both the skills and technology required to deliver more comprehensive and integrated solutions for company development across a range of cloud, mobile, and enterprise-level environments.

In a statement about the acquisition, the managing director of Foursys, James Miller commented that the organisational, cultural, and business-level fit for both of the companies is perfect. Both groups are delighted to be working together to supplement each other’s growth, and Foursys believe that becoming a part of a much larger business will deliver new solutions for supply, expertise, and skill development for customers and partners.

The Stand-Out Choice

The director of Chess, Richard Btesh noted that the latest acquisition was intended, in part, to demonstrate to other sellers within the area of data, ICT, and Telecoms that Chess will continue to be the stand-out choice for consumers. He noted that they will continue to diversify their existing product range by making strategic acquisitions and combining their talents with the skills of quality businesses.

One of Foursys’ existing partners, Sophos, joined the conversation, with a comment from channel sales director Jonathan Bartholomew. He noted that Sophos is proud of their ongoing relationship with Foursys, and the past ten years that they have worked together. Bartholomew went on to say that the company was thrilled about the announcement of the recent acquisition with Chess, and that they see this opportunity as a way for Foursys to further accelerate the growth that they have already begun to see over the recent years.

Today, it seems that Chess will give Foursys the platform it needs to deliver top-quality security solutions to more organisations throughout the UK.
