Colt Technology Services (Colt) is integrating leading communication service providers (CSPs), including Zoom, Genesys, and Twilio, into its Colt Cloud SIP service.

Colt Cloud SIP will seamlessly connect via the Colt IQ network to CSPs, providing companies with hybrid workforces seeking to enhance collaboration and customer experiences.

The digital infrastructure company, Colt, is also extending its Teams voice activation through direct routing and Operator Connect to Norway, Luxembourg, and Slovakia.

Earlier this month, it launched a direct-routing-as-a-service solution called Cloud Session Border Controller (SBC), which allows PSTN calls to be routed through Teams without the need for on-premises hardware.

Peter Coppens, VP Product Portfolio, Colt Technology Services, said: “We’re excited to welcome global leaders Genesys, Twilio, and Zoom to our popular partner ecosystem, at a time when more and more businesses are moving voice to the cloud.

“It is a perfect fit for the modern workplace: there’s no physical hardware to manage; it is secure and resilient; costs are transparent, and it suits a hybrid workforce.

Coppens continued: “Managing providers, contracts and provisioning is the time-consuming part.

“With Colt Cloud SIP, we solve that problem for our customers, interconnecting their applications to voice services almost anywhere in the world.”

Voice activation can be complex, but Colt utilises process automation to simplify the equation for its customers.

On the one hand, businesses can leverage Colt’s customer experience expertise, automation, and simplification, while still holding on to their relationships with providers.

Alternatively, companies can now opt for a new partner from Colt’s CSP integrations.

Zoom, Genesys, and Twilio are just a few of the big names that Colt customers will be able to import voice services from CSPs.

In fact, Colt is able to connect voice services with any cloud vendor that supports a Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) capability.

Before it was able to bring this updated solution to market, Colt had to establish voice connectivity with major CSPs, create partner agreements, automate and integrate SIP Trunk ordering and provisioning, and ensure services are fully compliant with regulatory standards.

Colt introduced “voice on demand” services for businesses in 2019, allowing companies to respond in real-time to their changing needs and expand into new markets through a centralised portal capable of managing numbers from all European countries.

Finally, it will be able to leverage Lumen’s terrestrial and subsea networks to meet enterprise and international IP traffic requirements in EMEA.

What is Colt?

Colt Technology Services describes itself as a “global digital infrastructure company that creates extraordinary connections to help businesses succeed”.

The company says its purpose it to empower customers within the digital universe, alongside innovating, maintaining values, and taking responsibility for customers, partners, people, and the planet.

Founded in 1992, Colt has grown from its base in the City of London to over 60 offices around the globe.

The Colt IQ Network connects 222 cities and 32 countries with over 1000 data centres, 51 Metropolitan Area Networks, and more than 31,000 buildings through North America, Europe, and Asia’s biggest commercial centres.

Colt is a privately owned company and hails itself as one of the most financially secure companies in the sector.

The company made a major acquisition in recent times when Lumen Technologies agreed to sell its EMEA business to Colt for $1.8 billion.

Colt is set to gain an expanded infrastructure in the EMEA regions, improving its services for global enterprises and strategic partners. Its extended network will enable Colt to offer European businesses expanded fibre connectivity.

Colt will be able to offer an increased range of product solutions for enterprise, hyperscaler, wholesale, and government customers.
