RingCentral has revealed new features that will help developers build on its platform.

The new APIs are designed to aid end-users in breaking down data siloes and enable apps to integrate with one another and its own UCaaS solution.

Nat Natarajan, Executive Vice President of Products and Engineering at RingCentral, said: “In a hybrid world, customers want to integrate their existing apps and services with their business communications platform.

“This helps them to run and grow their business while empowering their people to work from anywhere.

“This is why we’ve built an open platform that makes it easy to integrate existing and new apps with our messaging, phone, and video capabilities all built on the cloud. We are helping customers to build customised workflows for their end users, helping them to effectively work from anywhere”

RingCentral’s new APIs are focused on call performance analytics and audit trail, both of which are in public beta.

The analytics API lets users gather calling and communications data to build customisable reports. RingCentral said this lets businesses ensure proper capacity planning and statistics for answering and hold times. It will also allow businesses to synchronise data with external tools.

The audit API gives users enterprise-grade functionality to track system configuration changes and system logins to identify errors that need correcting.

RingCentral also revealed new integrations for Add-Ins, which lets developers embed applications into its MVP platform so they don’t have to switch between apps. Integrations launching this quarter include GitHub, Bugsnag, Trello and Akazio.

Add-ins were launched by RingCentral in August.
