Armour Communications, a company known for providing specialist and innovative solutions for secure communications, recently announced its integration with Microsoft Skype for Business. The announcement outlined the fact that Armour mobile now has the potential to connect to Skype for Business using typical Cisco SIP technology. This new development means that Armour users overseas or in the field should be able to access safe and secure communications through video and voice connections with Skype.

For businesses across the country, Armour’s new development has ensured that there’s a fantastic solution available for collaboration that protects sensitive, classified, and private information, while allowing organisations to benefit from the unique cost-savings that come with using VoIP services like Skype.

The New Service Arrives in March

The latest Armour unveiling will be on show for the very first time during the Security and Policing event for 2017. This conference is the official UK global security event for government bodies, which will be held at Farnborough International Conference and Exhibition Centre between the 7th and 9th of March.

According to a director at Armour Communications, David Holman, Armour Mobile will be the first and only secure mobile communications platform so far that has been able to offer integration with a unified communications service like Skype, with included conferencing solutions. Holman noted that Skype is one of the most popular solutions for customers, and now the company is proud to announce that they can extend that application’s use by giving Armour mobile users the integration they need – wherever they are. The new development means that Armour customers will be able to participate in completely secured video and audio conferencing, as well as being able to call Skype for Business users through the Armour mobile app.

Unique Armour Security

Armour ensures the privacy and security of calls for Skype for Business users by linking connections to Cisco meeting servers, recently known as “Acano”. The connections are made via the Armour connect gateway, and end-users can deploy their services remotely by simply downloading the Armour communications app and activating it on their phone. Users can be securely and easily activated “over the air”, which means that professionals can get their collaboration services up and running in minutes.

As a sign of their impeccable quality, Armour Mobile have been awarded the CPA (Commercial Product Assurance) certificate by the National Cyber Security Centre, or NCSC. This certification outlines that Armour is capable of providing government-level security for communications in voice, full video, and conferencing or messaging solutions on “COTS” (Commercial off the shelf) Android and iPhone smartphones. Armour has also been included in the NATO catalogue.

For businesses where security comes first, Armour Mobile can provide ultra-safe solutions for defending information at NATO restricted and UK Official classifications. Following their unveiling at Security and Policing 2017, Armour Comms will also be visiting Cyber UK between the 14th and the 16th of March, 2017.
