Disrupting operations can create a dilemma.
On one hand, significant investment in a new strategy can unlock new ways of working and drive increased productivity. On the other, it can pile on problematic financial and operational pressure.
Communication technology – procured either directly or via a Managed Service Provider – is the perfect case in point: continually-evolving functionality hard for a business to resist, and yet a root-and-branch modernisation too disruptive to consider.
Consequently, when an opportunity arises to somehow plot a path between both extremes, it still does not guarantee an easy decision.
Take the migration of legacy Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) to a brilliantly-transformative UCaaS or IP-DECT infrastructure. In terms of enabling game-changing collaboration, mobility, and efficiency, it is a no-brainer step for any business to take, and yet expensive re-cabling (and the often-required halt in operation) often prohibits progress.
That is, until now.

In addition to disruption caused by re-cabling, legacy DECT transition to modern UCaaS and IP-DECT solutions also used to require specialist engineers and a total production shut-down to enable strip and fit out.
In contrast, the Spectralink solution enables a seamless transition across multiple sites in one deployment and without expensive and lengthy disruption.
Crucially, too, if the legacy investment included Spectralink base stations and handsets, they can be preserved and will continue to be fully-functional post-deployment. This not only significantly reduces the total cost of modernisation, it also ensures workers continue to experience the benefits of Spectralink’s range of rugged and durable devices that they have come to rely upon.
