One of the world’s leading solutions for omni-channel cloud communication platforms, MessageBird, recently announced a new acquisition. The business, known for its suite of cloud communications APIs and omni-channel products, has purchased London-based company Pusher.
The deal, valued at around 28.6 million, will deliver a host of new real-time web features to MessageBird’s customers, allowing them to talk to their clients in more ways than ever before. MessageBird is making this new purchase after its Series C funding announcement 2 months ago. According to the company, the purchase represents the next step on the company’s path to transforming the way teams communicate.
The Path to Successful Communication
Pusher’s real-time platform of SDKs and APIs will now be integrated to become the new “MessageBird Pusher”, which allows access to new features such as in-app messaging, location tracking, and push notifications. Pusher will also continue to remain available as a standalone product, with support for existing customers still available going forward.
According to MessageBird CEO and Founder, Robert Vis (pictured, above), the global pandemic has accelerated digital transformation across all aspects of our lives. Increasingly, consumers want businesses to communicate with them in the way they communicate with friends and family members. Bringing Pusher into the MessageBird environment will allow the thousands of customers that already rely on MessageBird to meet and communicate with customers through messaging on any channel they choose.
The London-based team for Pusher, which consists of 25 people, will now join the MessageBird family, and the customer base, which includes MailChimp, GitHub, and CodeShip, as well as the Financial Times. These customers will be joining teams like Heineken, Deliveroo, Hugo Boss, and SAP, who are all users of MessageBird already.
Expanding the MessageBird Product
According to Pusher CEO, Max Williams, the company creates and maintains complicated infrastructure to ensure that developers can build the real-time features that users are looking for as quickly as possible, strengthening the full user experience. Joining MessageBird marks a special opportunity for the company to accelerate the reach and impact of the product that they’ve spent so long building. The team is thrilled to help MessageBird evolve as an omni-channel communications service.
